Scott Frost gets an extension and Mason gets another year. What a country.
Good luck with that, Vandy.

That should go well. How do you go from James Franklin winning and going to bowls, to Derek Mason and be satisfied with it?

6 years, zero winning seasons

He’s the best they can do so it makes sense

He has beaten Tennessee three straight years.

Because unlike 99% of the other P5 schools, Vandy students actually are more worried about school than football.

Derek Mason is a poor man's BOOM.

Vandy hit the lottery when they hired Franklin

Because it's Vanderbilt.

Very great guy and great personality, but he's not a good head coach.

Vandy "fans" are not satisfied with it. The AD is

If they threw a bunch of money at Mike Leach he might consider it.
Lane Kiffin would probably take the job.
Hell Charlie Strong and Will Muschamp are upgrades over Mason.
Any of the top group of 5 coaches missing other jobs could probably do better.
Mason is a bottom 5 minimum G05 coach.
Vanderbilt should be able to beat the 3 cupcakes every year and most of the shitty non conference power 5 teams they play like Purdue with a decent coach.
They should be winning some against the likes of Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, South Carolina each year as currently constructed.
2 bowls at 6-7 both years in 6 years is just not cutting it.
Vandy is in a better position to succeed than they were 20 years ago.

Who is Vandy's division crossover team from the West? They have to love having one automatic win every year before the season even starts.

Ole Miss and since 2005 it's 8-7 Vandy with two OM wins vacated.
Fun Fact: It took Ole Miss 11 games in the series before they scored a point.
