You have a lot of people (including probably Deion himself) who think he should be given a big job just because of his name.

UAB is a good entry-level FBS job. It’s in a recruiting hotbed, the facilities are decent. The schedule is pretty easy and the expectations are reasonable.

Logically speaking, it would be the next step up from the FCS. If you win there then you’ll get serious consideration for an SEC/ power 5 coaching job.

They’ll be a bottom half program in the American. The American isn’t supposed to have equal revenue splits, so all current programs will have an edge on the CUSA additions.

If I’m Deion, I put USF way ahead of UAB.

I agree with USF being a good landing spot for Deion. Nice stepping stone to prove himself before a P5 gig and he’s a Florida guy. Plus, not like USF has anything to lose.

They have a lot to gain too. They’re one of the only remaining non-P5 teams that could feasibly be P5, or they could become a regular contender for that 6th AQ playoff spot.

I forgot about USF. You’re right they really couldn’t get any worse.. I think they’ve beaten 1 FBS team in the last 3 years

USF has an internal war ongoing over an on campus stadium. They will never take off until that is settled.

I'm in on this. Tuscaloosa will shut it down though.

They need to build one for a variety of reasons. It gets the students involved, it helps recruiting, and the gameday atmosphere is always fun even when the team isn’t very good

Also, I doubt the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa would approve him as coach for the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Lane Kiffin went from being an OC at USC to NFL HC. Try again.

you are not too smart. This would be a virtual lateral move for him now. He will probably get a power 5 school. Think mid power 5 like a GA tech. I would be shocked if AU called but they are looking for a splash name and prime time would be it for sure. He would probably keep caddy and go after some former AU players

Deion to some mid level school would be smart, but I just don't think it's going to happen.

He's getting so much exposure and hype that sooner or later a P5 program - and perhaps a big one - is going to take that leap.

Truth is that if a big program hires Deion it'll probably get more media attention than any CFB hire since Saban came back. Riley to USC and BK to LSU were very splashy moves on paper, but neither will compare to Deion going to a big school.

Deion is 55 yrs old. He's not looking to do the slow crawl to a big time job. He's either going to keep coaching an HBCU for the gratification of helping players and elevating the profile of HBCU's in general, or he is going to go straight to a place he feels he could win a national title at.

First can’t figure out appeal of Auburn job and now think Prime should go to UAB. You’re having a helluva day.

What does that have to do with Al Davis? He did what he thought it was worth it. Was there another HC I believe Rams HC is pretty young too.
