Leonhard has to be in the mix, right ? I can't imagine Aranda not putting in a word for his boy on the way out. Not to mention, he built on what Aranda did so there's a precedent of succession.

I can’t seem to link the Google article.....

But they said there is interest both ways with Todd Grantham. It basically was updated at 6:15am saying that Grantham would be willing to leave Florida

Personally I’d love to have Grantham; Shoop, or maybe even Alex Grinch

Someone who knows more than me explain why Grantham would leave UF to go to another SEC school?

Hope it’s different phone lines than “all those recruits were calling in on to get in this class.”

$$$$ + UF Fans wanting to run him off despite him fielding S&P top 20 defenses every where since 2009 minus two years.

The Chiz is an elite DC. Not a good HC, but as a DC he is one of the best.

What went wrong at UNC? Not strolling or being a smart arse. Honestly don’t recall why he left.

Maybe, but we just freed up a bit of room. Aranda was the highest paid DC in the country and we were about to pay Joe Brady 1 million per year. We'll see if UF wants to compete with the money we can swing.

So he's currently making $1.4 million after UF extended him when the Bengals were trying to hire him.

Do we offer $2 million? We feel THAT good about him?

Per an open records request, Grantham's salary increases by $100,000 annually. He will make $1.39 million this season, $1.49 million in 2019 and $1.59 million in 2020. For context, his $1.39 million salary this season would have made him the fifth-highest paid assistant in college football last season, according to USA Today's coaching salaries database. Additionally, Grantham does not have a buyout to pay if he accepts a job as either a college head coach or with an NFL team.

Grantham joined new Gators coach Dan Mullen at Florida after spending the 2017 season as Mullen's DC at Mississippi State. In that one season, Grantham improved the Bulldogs' unit in scoring defense, run defense and passing defense after the team finished at or near the bottom of the SEC in those categories in 2016. Specifically, Mississippi State finished fifth in the SEC in rushing yards allowed per carry and sixth in points allowed per game.

Prior to his stint at Mississippi State, Grantham was most recently a defensive coordinator at Louisville under Bobby Petrino and at Georgia under Mark Richt.

A sizable chunk of the $4.74 million in Florida's coaching pool is going to Grantham. The Gators' co-offensive coordinators, Billy Gonzales and John Hevesy, are making $565,000 this season. Defensive line coach Sal Sunseri will also earn $565,000 this year as part of a two-year deal

The DC at Wisky definitely does not make 225k. They dont pay like SEC schools, but they're not THAT bad

I think he just wanted to retire and step away. Got a cushy SECN gig and spend more time with his kids

This is from April of 2018:

Leonhard, entering his second season as defensive coordinator/secondary coach and third season overall on the staff, is to be paid a total of $966,666 next season. That includes a base salary of $304,800, another $495,200 from the UW Foundation and a retention bonus of $166,666.

Most coaches are paid like that.

That’s why it’s always funny when someone is like “Ed Orgeron is making MILLIONS as a public employee. This is an outrage!”

Because the school pays a very small portion of those coaching salaries. It’s all booster money and money generated from the program

O's recent hiring history seems to indicate that he favors younger dynamic coordinators supplemented by older, more experienced assistants. He has seen firsthand the benefit of a forward-looking offensive mind, so I would expect him to go with someone younger.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it zero $$$ from the school?

The athletic dept is entirely self sustainable.
