David Yost would be a home run hire!

Runs a modern offense. Adaptable to run or pass. Not sure about his recruiting but if we have a great offense, the Louisiana, East Texas and northern Florida talent will come flocking!

But can he be a defensive coordinator?
Unless, that is, you're referring to Yost as a PGC?
Dude has great hair and is definitely capable. We'd pay him more to be a PGC. He makes $600k/yr as an OC at TT. We'd probably pay him 750-900 for PGC. But would he want the title demotion?
Alot of variables in play.
To me, my worthless opinion, John Curtis would make more sense. Has familiarity with Saints schemes that Brady brought to Baton Rouge, coaches saints WRs like Brady coached LSU WRs, so same drills/practice routines will continue. And Curtis is a monstrous potential force in Louisiana recruiting, most notably in the south Boot.

You want to go from what we just witnessed on offense to the veer?

At first glance thought you we're pushing for Yost from Remember the Titans

Hmm, pretty sure he'd be a bit of a let down seeing as how he died in May 2019. RIP Coach Yost

Yost makes absolutely zero sense. Have you seen his offenses?

Nah dude, just watched Remember the Titans. SMH Have you seen his offense or know his background? Spread shotgun formations. Not as much RPO as us but that can be added. Pretty much the same offense that ran your "elite" defense up and down the field for 4 quarters. But after watching Jake fromm state farm and that dumpster fire of an offense all year, wouldn't expect you to understand.

Yes.

What a useless term. Literally 100 teams run spread shotgun formations.

Know how I know you don’t know anything about Yost? Yost runs the air raid.

You are thinking of Curtis Johnson
He is the saints WR coach
John Curtis is a HS Coach who runs the veer

what we did last year isn't THAT much different than the air raid, brotha
we used a little more vertical in our concepts but otherwise it would fit right in, in the Big12
it's also similar to what Brian Kelly was running until a few years ago

You just worry about your defense

In some ways yes, most spread teams run air raid concepts. The difference is whether you have a commitment and desire to run the ball, which Yost doesn’t have. Part of the reason I said it was an odd fit. Go look at how TT did running the ball this past year. Once again, big difference between going full air raid, and running some air raid concepts. A lot of the concepts LSU ran were pro concepts from the Saints. Air raid does not equal throwing the ball a lot. It’s what concepts and schemes you’re running, and your philosophy about running the ball. Also the amount of concepts you have. Air raid teams generally don’t run many different concepts. LSU’s offense was a blend of the Saints spread/ pro system, with the RPO game from Penn St. one of the things that made their offense so dangerous was they wanted to run if they could. Remember LSU tearing people apart with inside zone?

If he’s hired as passing game coordinator, his lack of desire to run the ball would be irrelevant.

You think he’s going to be happy being part of a system that doesn’t fit his philosophy at all? Or even more, that Orgeron would hire someone whose philosophy doesn’t fit with E? Not how it works.

we were a combo of pro style spread, west coast, RPO, inside/outside zone runs, coupled with zone read plays and QB draw plays.
