This just shows how everyone outside of LA views LSU.

UF can pull in a name like Charlie Weis for OC.

LSU has to resort to a fricking WR coach who is not proven whatsoever.

Yet we can win a f**king football game against a D1 school. And at you thinking Weis is something special.

For getting everyone excited, if he isn't gone, I think you should be banned till next football season.

Seriously???....Offense was not the problem when he was at ND....and he made Brady into Brady....come on now how can you not expect him to have success at Florida.....and how could you not be excited if he was your coordinator.

He's an extremely good offensive coordinator. Just a failure of a head coach. If Moustache et al were UF fans.. would they have been pissed about bringing in a coach without the personnel to run his system? A read option team going to a pro-style offense..

Has to resort? Were they even interviewing higher profile OCs? You don't seem to know what you're talking about.

Flame Fail.

Except for the fact that Florida actually had an OC opening at the time.

And he's still the WR coach and only a candidate since he's on staff already.

For the love of God, Billy G. has never called a freaking play in his life as a OC!!! A promotion to OC is completely unacceptable for the program. The idea of this just pisses me off.

Seriously. Tom Brady would be Tom Brady with Crowton coaching him. Favre is Favre and played at So MS - what's his OCs name ?

I don't think he will do poorly but I wouldn't start using him as supporting data to make a point relative to how great Fl is and how LSU is inferior because FL hire him... the OP is over reaching Weis' impact but a longshot.

Come on now his best year at Michigan he had 2600ish yards....his first year as a starter in the NFL he had like 3500 or something like that.....would you say that the competition is worse in the NFL than college or that the coaching is better in the NFL than college.....I know which one I pick.

ETA and I bet if you ask Brady he tells you he isn't where he is today (a surefire HOF'er) without Weis.

Beat me to it.

I'm sure Weis influenced Brady in some ways but I would highly doubt he would state that without Weis he wouldn't be a HOF'er.

I apologize he actually started the year before that one I was talking about which was '02....he started 14 games in '01 and had 2900ish yards.....which still leads to my point that he improved and was molded into the QB that we know today under Weis.....in '02 he had 16 starts.

ETA so yes your statement about the amount of games has a lot of merit

I wouldn't be surprised.....the point was it seemed as though you were insinuating that Weis was a bad hire for Florida when I contend that he was about the best they could get....matter of fact probably the best especially for John Brantley.

How'd Drew Bledsoe do under Weis from 2000 and 2001? (I really don't remember)

Any QB should get better through coaching, but sometimes you get a talent like Manning or Brady that have the intangibles that others just don't have.

Not in the least. As stated, my point is that his hiring is not sufficient to differentiate the quality of Fls program vs LSUs program.

likewise I'm sure.....It just dumbfounds me that anyone in the country would think that Charlie Weis is a dumb hire for a top flight collegiate program.
