UPDATE 2: Situation is very fluid...more moving pieces than normal for a process to replace coaches, which has caused delays. A second source has told me that CR very much in play but "so many moving pieces right now".
Holy shite you're like all the sources over the years on this board that should have been banned
Fluid. Lol

The longer it takes the more I don't think it's Raymond.

Of course, its fluid. Add you to the list of not insiders.

Kelly could be coaching the secondary. But

LSU has a vacancy and he's a db coach that's currently unemployed. There couldn't be less moving pieces.

I think, at this point, if we end up with Raymond that means we struck out with a few others. He's definitely not the first pick here. That seems pretty obvious.

Hey if your source is wrong will you out them so we know not to completely trust them in the future?

Among the movers and shakers of LSU fandom, if I was a sauce, Chicken is the last one I’d want to bullshite.

IF we hire CR back, and I'm lukewarm on the idea, I hope he has CBs and Ss. Kinda counterintuitive, but I think the taking the Ss away from him hurt his effectiveness. Partly ego, yes. But also in a technical sense too.

If Raymond is indeed hired back he needs to get back to the guy that had some fire. Treat it like a last chance to prove himself again. The last few years at LSU and even UF he just didn't seem to pull top DB talent. Worst was the fact that the Db's looked lost when he was coaching. This really makes me nervous.

Can someone give a plausible scenario where this makes sense?

I never ever said that Saban was going to Texas…please link to it. I only said that Texas was pursuing him heavily…which is true... even Finebaum said that Saban listened. It's not exactly far-fetched.
Right. The story about Texas pursuing Saban & the offer they made him leaked since then. It's well documented & been reported about. Too many posters have poor comprehension skills as well as bad memories.

Last year, SEC Network analyst/personality Paul Finebaum mentioned the biggest reason why Saban wasn't interested in the job on an episode of the Saturday Down South podcast
“I did a book with Gene Wojciechowski, and we had a nugget in the book that said that Texas boosters had tried to hire Nick Saban, which I think most people knew, but we had a source that said they had offered him more than $100 million and Texas fans acted like they didn’t want Nick Saban,” Finebaum said. “The bottom line is they did want Saban and Saban was offered the job, and he considered it.
"He said to me and to anybody who would confront him with this, that the reason he didn’t go to Texas — he said this privately, he didn’t say this publicly — was he did not want to have to answer to 10 or 15 different boosters who all felt like they owned the franchise. It was a little of a Jerry Jones complex or a T. Boone Pickens complex in college football in the past."

Toxic environment breeds bad results and will take the life out of anything
If BK and Frank Wilson think it's the right move I'm good with it
Maybe CR comes back more motivated and appreciates the position more now
Either way, we're in way better hands with this current defensive staff than the last
I also know if it doesn't work BK would move on quickly until it's right

Raymond is on their radar, but they seem to be going after others in front of him and Raymond seems content to wait for an answer from LSU before exploring other options.
