None of that has been said. The only thing we know is that Miles doesn't want to talk about it. He has never, never, never stated "I am staying at LSU".

It's sad but I hear that a lot of fans from other SEC teams want Les to stay. What does that tell us?

All i'm saying is take it or not. Feel free to not believe any of it.

You gotta understand these situations change daily, and I will give you what I know.

I'm not saying he's going or staying. All i'm telling you is the facts as of now. As of now there is NO deal.

My take:

1) Miles will get a raise offer from LSU to $3mm and an extension regardless of Saturday night's game

2) UM will say they will pay Miles $1.8mm because they have to pay his buyout of $1.25mm and they will have to pay off Carr's assistants extra year on their contract of a little over $1mm

3) Miles and his family like Baton Rouge and his kids are at the point where packing and leaving again would be very difficult for them to deal with

4) Miles left Ann Arbor 14 years ago and there is very little remaining of what and whom he remembers from his previous UM tenure - In other words you can go back to a previous location but you cant ever really go home again

5) LSU is 32-6 under his leadership and the program is stable, well built and primed for continued success

That is exactly what I suggested 2 weeks ago. UM will pull a Joe Torre move and offer Miles less than what we are paying. Miles will then turn it down because he feels insulted that his alma mater would not at least match LSU's offer. This pleases the UM fanbase, because the administrators don't want Les, and they can say they offered Miles, but he declined.

Let me interpret for you: Les is ACTING like he is totally focused on the job at hand and is going to act like a Michigan offer comes out of the blue on Sunday. If somebody tells me we have to get a coach with integrity I am going to vomit. Get the best coach and best recruiter because they all lie and do what is best for them.

I believed strongly from the day he was hired that Les would take any offer from UM. Knowing that, I am very pleased with the way he has handled it.

Everything he has said and done has been the epitome of class and I greatly appreciate that. Anyone that finds fault with his handling perhaps doesn't appreciate the difficulty of his situation.

He's been absolutely perfect. I have no ill will at all.
