alot of posters on this board: why can't we get a coach that might stay for more than a few years!!!

*O hires Pelini who will probably stay a while*

Bo....proven track record as a DC, still a well respected defensive mind in both the college and pro ranks...but he sucks

Kris Richard...paper thin resume and fired by his mentor from his only DC gig ...legion of boom tho hommmmmmerrrrunnnnnnn

there ya go!

the non deductive reasoning/cognitive dissonance crowd(we used to love him now we hate him) won't like that.

I don’t get the whole game has changed narrative. Why has the game changed for Bo but not for coaches like Venables? Bo’s experience is top notch and his defensive results are pretty elite. I would consider him a tier 1 DC.

....?

Venables has been a defensive coordinator at a high level without interruption since 1999. Bo is currently coaching an FCS team.

So this would feel like a neutral hire to me. Won't say I hate it, won't say I love it until I see what he brings in his 2nd round.

I agree with you. Him being away from specifically running, coaching and recruiting defense for 13 years isn’t a positive. Some people around here don’t understand that pointing this fact out doesn’t mean that you are completely against the hire or saying that Pelini will fail here in a second stint.

Tennessee grad and this:

quote:

Before entering the NFL coaching ranks, Hardegree spent three seasons at Duke (2008-10) as a graduate assistant before three seasons at LSU, where he worked on both sides of the ball, first as a defensive assistant (2011) and later an offensive assistant (2012-13).

Also has an LSU connection thru Gase.

Correct. Haven’t seen any “ done deals”. Lol.

I think DALSUs done deal jinxed everybody to not say that anymore. Until he’s at the podium for acceptance speech.

UGA didn’t announce Lanning for a while. Granted, he was an in-house promotion guy but still it worked out ok. I wouldn’t freak if he wasn’t in place.
