It seems as though we may have some competition for Herman. There is, however, a possibility that UT could dig DEEP into some pockets to make another run at Saban.

Yeah but Texas is a bigger rebuild.

Hopefully that is a plus for us.

Lol if Texas fires him. Honestly, they never gave strong a chance. They get whatever bad comes their way.

People just assume this, but it's not true. Texas will have plenty talent coming back. Strong has been rebuilding since he got there. He cleaned house. The new coach will win immediately and it's easier to win in the Big 12.

Strong is in his 3rd year after two losing seasons and they've given up 47 to ND, 50 to Cal, 49 to OK. St. and 45 to OU this year. They've given him a chance.

If Strong gets fired, there will be no competition for Herman...he will go to Texas if they want him.

Didn't he turn down a 10 million per year offer from them? I can't imagine how much it would take for him to change his mind.

You think LSU would give a guy a fourth year after three losing seasons ?

We would have fired him after last year. Times have changed. You don't get 3 or 4 years now. Too much $$$

Will never understand this logic when factoring in a coach's decision on which school he would choose.

Do you really believe the BEST coaches think this way? That they want to take the easy way out? It's just ludicrous, imo, to believe Herman or any other coach who we would consider factors this in his choice. If that's the case why would we want them here?

Lol at people thinking Texas is a rebuild

Two straight top 5 classes and 18 starters back next year. They have their QB too

did you read all of the article you linked?

The shortlist for Texas, however, might include Art Briles and even Jimbo Fisher, especially if Florida State begins to slide. The Longhorns may also ponder hiring recently dismissed Les Miles, who stated in an interview on Saturday that he intends to coach again. There’s also Washington coach Chris Petersen, who currently has the Huskies ranked in the Top 10, which hasn’t happened often since their last National Title in 1992.
