Woodward pulled Petersen to Washington after he turned several other jobs down. I have faith he can pull a high profile P5 coach.

What is with all this negativity with still 2 weeks left to go?
Why are we talking about Florida from nearly 20 years ago?
LSU has already proven even an avg to below avg coach can have success. Sure would be nice to get an above avg coach. Would also be nice to let the whole thing play out without all these cautions and people desperate for answers.

I'd go with 4 December... Could be a guy in a conference championship, then a NY6, but not the playoffs. Anyone short of making the playoff will leave on 5 December to get a jump on ESD.

Come on, you’re a smart guy. You know one recruiting class isn’t worth a sub optimal coach. Players also don’t have to sign at that date and can be convinced to wait. Of course there will be collateral damage. There is also no guarantee that hiring a tier 2 coach will have enough of a benefit in signing guys/preventing them to sign elsewhere in December to be worth waiting out and pitching an elite coach. There are a lot of factors to consider but early signing should be very low on the list.
