9-4 is a dumpster fire when the point of O was to avoid those kind of years

Now he and LSU have spun 2017 into a rebuilding year. That's a dumpster fire

Being completely coordinator dependant and beefing with your first OC pick? Dumpster fire

Promoting Ensminger because he can't or won't hire a good OC is a dumpster fire

yes you can.

all O has to do is exactly what he said he would do.

literally, that's it.

This kind of bullshite stopped when they started asking for seat licenses, donations and TAF surcharges.

9-4 is not a dumpster fire. 8 wins or less next year and you can claim that.

With a historic loss to Mississippi State, TROY, and combined with the fact that most of the rest of the SEC sucked hard this year. Our one good win was Auburn, with the Texas A&M game being a decent win (even though they had just fired their coach).

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad year, but just saying "9-4" doesn't tell the whole tale.

Finally, the whole Canada debacle (yes, it's a debacle) added to what appears to be a reneging of the "We'll hire the best coordinators" promise sure does make this look like a dumpster fire. At the very least, there's a lot of smoke.

frick it.

this is the beginning of the end for O if this hire goes through, most likely.

somehow Alleva will allow 2 of 3 top football positions be held by coaches with no other offers in the same positions, from even a Sunbelt school. That will not end well.

Worried the recruits would learn that LSUs coach is a liar?

False. Look back over all the names that were thrown out on this board last week for an example of all the options that would satisfy most.

Exactly.

When Canada was hired last off-season the majority of the board was happy to very happy. When Will Wade was hired as HC of the basketball program most were (and still are) excited. When Aranda was recently retained just about everyone was very happy.

This situation is much different. The negative reaction to the Ogeron hire was justified because LSU just fired a long time successful HC only to rush to hire their DL coach with no track record of success and ZERO interest from any other school in America. Ogeron got the LSU job completely predicated on his pitch that even though he was essentially unqualified to the HC, he would accept a (relatively) low salary and use the "savings" to hire the very best coordinators/asst coaches money could buy. He would recruit and oversee the program, but ultimately let the "best" coaches he hired do their jobs. That load of bullshite blew up 3-4 games into the season. Now, Ogeron forces LSU to eat a buyout to get rid of HIS handpicked OC because they couldn't get along and he wants to hire a guy who (A) doesn't really want to be the OC and (B) no one else in America wants to be their OC.

Fans will be fans, but I can understand the anger that arises from watching their favorite program make blatantly stupid hiring decision after blatantly stupid hiring decision. If/when Ensminger is named OC...which carries as much importance as the HC hire since your HC is virtually useless as a game planner/play caller, it will be the THIRD major hire LSU has made of a guy who NO ONE ELSE would even consider to be a candidate for that position at their school (Johnny Jones, Ed Ogeron, Steve Ensminger).

One such hire could (arguably) be a mistake. A second such hire is very worrisome. A third unequivocally proves the people running the athletic dept. are morons. LSU is not smarter than the rest of the country. There is a reason NO ONE ELSE considers these guys worthy hires.

The official Mantra of the O crowd.

Looksie, i've sort of accepted that O is our HC. Still dont like it, but i was officially to the point of waiting and seeing and hoping for the best.

Then he proceeds to...

1. get in a fight with his top flight OC that he hired after only 5-6 months on the job IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON.
2. Lose by 30 to Miss St.
3. Lose to Troy.
4. Publicly ridicule his OC.
5. and he is about to hire a guy for OC who hasn't been an OC in 20 years and doesnt even want the damn job ( ) This, after telling everyone that he would hire the BEST coordinators to get the job.

Personally, i've seen it play out. i'm good thanks,

That's my point....I guess it's arguing semantics over "dumpster fire." But maybe, just maybe, Canada was the problem why it wasn't a more successful year. Time will tell if O can fix this.

Well I guess I could just be bitter like you guys.

Look man, O's making his bed...this is it. He fixes it or he's gone. Simple as that.

OP’s post is naive and flawed. This is not a marriage. It won’t get better by blindly supporting these idiots with your money. This idea that some people are better fans for throwing money at pure incompetence and accepting mediocrity is nonsense.
