Harbaugh will not. I repeat will not, be coaching in college next year. He will stay with SF before that happens.

Because a) NFL teams will line up to pay him as much or more than colleges will, b) he doesn't get along with the michigan brain trust and c) he can't win a Super Bowl in college

Quite a few NFL teams will be willing to back up the truck for him, should the 49ers dump him.
As for the second part, maybe the lure of coaching at Michigan is strong enough to entice him. Somebody will have to provide evidence of that, however, because AFAIK Harbaugh hasn't indicated that coaching the Wolverines would be any sort of capstone to his career.
If you want to get into the whole nebulous "What I think" type of deal, he just strikes me as someone that wants to be an NFL coach, specifically. Going to college for the better hours doesn't seem to be on his radar; he seems perfectly happy doing the 80-90 hour a week NFL grind for now.

He is. If he wanted to be the coach at Michigan he would have gone there 4 years ago. They weren't even on his radar then nor are they now.

I think Jiimmy Sexton is already working the back channels to express his client's interest in the job.
Miles could rebuild the program in 4-5 years then retire a hero. And remember.... he hates Urban Meyer.

Last I heard, Sexton was not Miles' agent. My only question is....could he take his QB son to Michigan? LSU is not interested, so I hear. I know it would be interesting for the pari to go.

I think if CLM gets fired, his next job will probably be an assistant coach or a HC at a smaller school.
I wouldn't mind having Muschamp as LSU's HC.

You may be right, but their fans certainly would be happy to get Miles (based on their boards.)
They want a Harbaugh first, and if not, Miles. Even discussing if they can get Miles to commit first, do they skip over the option of JH.

According to many of their real insiders, they are saying miles is #2 behind jh, and hackett the ad has a great relationship with les unlike the pervious two ads.

I don't think it'll happen, but Miles would be a good--though conservative--choice for Michigan. I do think he's more likely to consider it now that Manny has graduated(or will in the Spring). I think Michigan probably wants younger, but Miles is not the typical 60-year-old. He seems young still. I could see him coaching another 8-10 years with a fresh start. I think LSU has taught him a standard and I'm sure after 2-3 years, he'll be competing with Urban for tops in the Big 10.
Michigan may could do better, but they're more likely to do much worse. If. Harbaugh turns them down, they should turn to Les. He could bring them back to close to where they want to be. Maybe not as high, but they can't afford to sink any lower. Hs safe, and could be really good. Not sure if he leave though without the full court press.
