If they beat Texas Tech this weekend and OSU beats OU, Baylor would face OSU in Big 12 title game. And assuming Michigan falls to Ohio State...

If Baylor would beat OSU in Big 12 title game, they would just need to jump Notte Dame and Cincinnati at this point.

Notre Dame has no impressive wins outside of Wisconsin.

Cincinnati could easily lose to Houston in AAC title game.

All this is plausible, no?

It is plausible, but that’s assuming the committee leaves out a 2 loss Bama. I don’t know if that would happen or not. Especially with the loss to TCU.

Baylor also has another top 15 win against BYU.

Baylor had clear conference championship inroads entering the OU matchup. Cold blooded Dave kicked that FG for a reason.

But a 2-loss team would need a BCS November sized dose of chaos to land higher than NY6. Would be a first.

no, in my scenario, Baylor just needs to jump Cincinnati and Notre Dame to become 4th seed.

Chicken, do you believe Aranda is Woodward's hire? Playoff berth certainly would make it even more interesting.

As for Riley, a lot of folks are still "riding," but it has become harder and harder for me to believe that he'd come to LSU.

I guess it's possible. If Oklahoma State wins on Saturday, they would play Baylor next week in the Big 12 championship.

If Baylor were to win that, they'd be conference champions. The conference championship has to count for something.

Baylor is 8 right now, I think?

Baylor would have two wins over 2 top 10 teams, the committee would have to recognize them for that.

I agree about Notre Dame, they don't have a huge win outside of the Wisconsin win.

Cincinnati's big win was over ND when they were ranked 5th so it's possible. What's Michigan's big win? They're 6 right now.

I'm just not sure if they would jump from 8 to 4.

I’d like to see this happen because I love to see Aranda having success. I find myself watching Baylor games in large part to see Dave there on the sidelines. There’s something about his demeanor that exudes intelligence and commands respect.

Of course if this happens and Aranda has been our huckleberry all along, it would likely throw a wrench into recruiting.

Looking forward to these next two weekends of ball to see how it all plays out.

Assuming Ohio St beats Michigan, and Ok St drums Oklahoma, and everyone else holds serve, the rankings going into CC weekend would look like:

[1-4] Georgia - OhioSt - Bama - Cincy
[5] Ok St (big win, jumps ND & losing Mich
[6] ND - Lame duck
[7] BAYLOR

Then, after avenging their loss to OKSt in the CC game, (in a game that has a TON on the line, with their opponent eying the Playoff as well with a Conference Win and Bama loss (which Bama should lose to UGA, but who knows), the committee will def put air of weight on the BIG12 title game.

I think in this situation, Bama drops to 5, ND stays @ 6, and the team with the most quality wins, a CC, etc… jumps to #4

Baylor should make it in for the scenario you described especially considering LSU beats TAMU and Bama has 2 losses. Bama has not been dominant.

Should Bama beat UGA, does UGA make it in over someone like Baylor especially if Cincy wins out and LSU beats TAMU?
The committee will punish ND because they lost to Cincy and if Cincy loses to UH or ECU, then they will keep others out over a 2 loss Bama. Complete BS IMO, but the bias exists by looking at the top 25 and considering SEC bump.

I doubt Baylor can but a 1 loss Big 12 champ will get in over ND and if Bama wins the SECCG would get in over Cincy also I think.

not saying Stanford can’t beat ND, but that would be the only way a 2 loss Baylor gets more live than the Irish do from the committee.
