O has only coached the team for two "full" years and he coaches in the SEC West. I can forgive him two 9-3 regular seasons.

What I will not forgive him for, however, is a terrible offense, when Orgeron was theoretically brought in to fix the offense.

LSU can 'out-talent' a lot of teams in any given year. This year, LSU played 5 teams that recruit at their level: Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, A&M. LSU went 2-3 in those games and the Auburn win was a squeaker.

If the offense wasn't god-awful, LSU is probably 4-1 in those games.

Orgeron botching the hiring of his offensive coordinator is inexcusable.

This has become the Q thread of the coaching changes board.

Excitement over Tee Martin and Salisbury steak.

This is what LSU football has become? Jesus Christ.

We were 33rd in the country in offensive efficiency with very little experience returning from 2017. That's the good news.

The bad news is we were 8th in the SEC in offensive efficiency, and got shut out by Bama again at home.

I think we will have a good offense next year. Top 15 nationally in efficiency and fighting with UGA for 2nd in the SEC.

There's nothing wrong with Tee Martin as a WR coach and this staff could use another great recruiter, He was in over his head as OC and plenty people were fired at USC this year.

Now what they should do but probably won't is bring in a great offensive mind for the other likely opening.

That's the good news?

First, it seems like a bullshite stat. "Team efficiencies are based on the point contributions of each unit to the team's scoring margin, on a per-play basis. The values are adjusted for strength of schedule and down-weighted for "garbage time" (based on win probability). The scale goes from 0 to 100; higher numbers are better and the average is roughly 50 for all categories. Efficiencies update daily during the season."

Second, let's look at our offensive "improvement".

2018 Rating 67.5 Rank 29
2017 Rating 75.5 Rank 15
2016 Rating 73.2 Rank 18
2015 Rating 73.8 Rank 17
2014 Rating 60.5 Rank 44
2013 Rating 85.2 Rank 7

Wtf is the Q thread?

And who the hell complains about possibly replacing Sullivan with Tee Martin? Honestly that's fans just wanting to complain about something.

Good points. I’ve heard good things about the offensive efficiency stat, but looking at our rankings over the past few years tells me it’s a little out of whack.

Regardless, the “total yardage” stat people cite is also a bad way to measure offensive success. Points per game is probably better, but fails to account for field position and defense/ST setting up the offense.

My main concern is offensive TDs.

The top teams have like 80+, 70+ and 60+ TDs..

I believe LSU, even with a crazy a&m 7 OT game, had around 44.. had we won in regulation we are probably closer to like 40 total TDs?

It just sucks. If O would go out and get a current successful OC.. the excitement level would be off-the-charts as a fan.

I guess it is my fault for reading a free board, but you, fat bastard, are one miserable SOB.

So how did Dabo last at Clemson from 2008 until he got his title in 2016? Clowns like you would have wanted him gone in 2010.

Be a miserable lurker.

2009 (first full season as head coach) --- 1 Atlantic Division
2010 -- T4th Atlantic Division
2011 --- 1rst Atlantic Division, ACC Champions
2012 --- T1 Atlantic Division
2013 -- 2 Atlantic
2014 --- 2 Atlantic
2015 --- 1 Atlantic, ACC Champions

I think O would have a lot more supporters if he won the West in 2017 (or even 2018) --- what about you?

My point, 92, is that people get itchy trigger fingers entirely too quickly. While i am not a fan of the o hire, there is no denying the improving trajectory of the program right now.

Bastard is just never happy. I let him get under my skin. Like i said, “my fault”.

I'm shining the TBL signal.

There's rumors of Tee Martin to Louisville. What happened?

the point is you are an idiot. when i say title i am talking any type of championship or hardware, west title, conference title or natty. you know just like poster above proved with dabo (which flew in your face clown) or ya know like saban did and miles did. won hardware in their first and second years at LSU.

If O does not win some hardware soon it will look bad. real bad. you fired a hardware winning coach for this. however, Miles could not win hardware anymore. O is expected to. otherwise what is the point? sadly you cannot comprehend that. itchy trigger fingers? O will have been given MORE than enough time by next year. It is win west next year or playoffs or bust.

wanna continue talking about dabo now? acting like dabo won ZERO hardware before his natty?

LSU was not a rebuild with O.

When I see it on the field I will believe it. However, it seems to me that Alabama is further ahead and Texas A & M is gaining, if not passing us. Our offense, nearly 3 years post Miles, is an anchor weighing us down. Anyone who thinks Ensminger will suddenly turn into the next offensive juggernaut is nuts.

I am not sure where the "we are on a positive trajectory is from." We had a good year but certainly not a great one. I hope I am wrong but do not share the optimism.

i think we may need to make peace with the fact that we're going to have an OC that the head football coach trusts 100%.

That likely has to be someone that's been in his circle before.

I think we need to do what we do best and that's recruit. We need to stop trying to do what other schools do and do our own thing. We have to assemble the very best recruiting squad in the nation. That's why we have to get Tee Martin.

There's a void at recruiting with Sullivan and Martin would be the ideal coach to fill that void.
