If anyone here thinks we're getting Kiffin, they're full of shite.
unless a very solid HC job opens, he's coming here for at least a year

Not saying he should go to LSU at all. I don't want him. But going from Tennessee to USC to SJSU just screams career ender to me.
His career was temporarily ended on a tarmac 3 years ago. The point is, he's in the rebuilding stage of his career and the consensus is he needs a few years on his own at a mid-major to get confidence in another head coaching gig. Houston, SJSU, etc.
I think he would do well at Oregon too, but I don't know if they want to risk it right out the gate.

But living in the Bay Area vs. living in Baton Rouge? I think the choice is obvious.

Has anyone heard him say he wants to be a head coach again, or is that just assumed?
He may have realized his temperament is not suited to being a head coach. If he can make 1.5-2 million, without the head ache, that sounds like a good gig.

Obviously LSU OC is better job. He will get paid paid what he wants cuz we aren't paying O shite. Just have to see how bad he misses the west coast.

Are y'all really going to offer him $1.5 or even 2 to be your OC?
Do those of us with any sense on here want this to happen- No.
Will it happen- Yes.

Yeah but we heard Alleva is a little stingy with the checkbook.
We had the top paid on the field football staff in the FBS this year (for all the good it did us). The only time Alleva got stingy was when he was trying to railroad Miles out the door, played hardball with Chavis, and stuck us with Steele.
Notice that, once Miles was saved last year, he opened up the old checkbook again to get Aranda, Juluke, and Craig, as it was then in his best interest to do so.
Considering that this hire makes or breaks him, he isn't going to pinch pennies on staff. He is going to spend. I'm sure he knows for certain that if this hire goes south, he's toast, and this hire hinges on the staff.

San Hoser can't afford Kiffin

I was thinking Houston actually.
But this could happen also.

MacIntyre
Also worth noting that MacIntyre won in the WAC at it's lowest point. SJSU then jumped to the MWC, making a tough job even harder. Mac would have still won, as evidenced by his time at CU, but the step in competition for the Spartans must be factored.

SJSU's current coach makes $546,745 with max bonus of $195k
Even if SJSU pays Kiffin $1M that's like making $500k in BR.
Markedly turning around LSU's lethargic O at $2M per year may be the more attractive route to landing a solid P5 gig for Kiffin.

Calling it now, Kiffin takes job at San Jose State HC

Seems like if Kiffins desire is to be a head coach again, UH would be the perfect place for him to go right now
If he can have success there for 2 years then he'd get to pick his job like Herman

While I don't think Kiffin is coming to LSU as OC, the OC job at LSU is a hell of a lot better job than HC at San Jose State.
not if Kiffin wants to be a head coach again.
He's not going to get an elite job - he'll need to go to a lower school and kick arse and not act like a fool. Then in a few years, he'll have redeemed himself and may get a big-time job.

Why? What can he do at LSU that he can't already do at Bama?
