I checked twitter just in case this was a fake account. Feldman really did tweet this though.

Chances Alabama was one of those schools?

Even if it's not, I'm going to say it is to make myself feel better.

Greg McElroy's comments concerning Canada leads me to believe Alabama was interested.

It is likely because of control

Seems to be a common theme with him.

His offenses are better the more control he has, and his relationship ship with his HC seems to suffer when he doesn't get that control.

He may have turned down some middle of the road p5 schools. It doesn't mean it was good p5 schools.

How many P5 have current OC vacancies? How many of those are middle of the road programs?

Of course! Surely he wouldn't have turned down a good p5 school in favor of LSU.

He had a great Binder.

But seriously if we had just a top 1/3 offense how good would be be? At least 10-1 last year and a rematch with Bama in the Peach Bowl

I believe most of the following Power 5 schools are currently without offensive coordinators -

- Alabama
- Baylor
- Indiana
- Ole Miss
- Oregon
- Purdue
- Rutgers
- UCLA

I'm assuming Indiana and Purdue reached out to Canada, given his strong ties to the region.

I knew when I saw the tweet from Feldman that some LSU fan would either A) wonder aloud if this was the case, or B) claim from "sources" that this was the case.

So this guy turns down a chance to coach at the defending national champion who is playing for another one this year, where he would return his All conference QB, 4 of 5 lineman, his top 2 WRs, and his top 3 rushers (and where he'd likely make more money) in order to go coach with Ed freaking O?

No, CWiltz. Bama was not one of those 3 teams he turned down.

Lsu fans are in ruckus. If you told them Matt canada couldn't stop a bullet they'd scream at you.

I have no clue how many other schools had OC positions available besides LSU, Ole Miss, and Bama tbh.

There's also Baylor, Oregon, Notre Dame, Rutgers, and, I think, Texas...the Rutgers OC left to join Herman's staff but don't think he's been named OC. Also, Pitt could've made a counteroffer that he turned down as well...

Have no idea who Bama is lookin' at. And, from what I've read, I don't think Ole Miss was targeting Canada...think they're lookin' at Phil Longo...

Saban moves like a sloth when it comes to these coordinator hires. I
only in the sense that he brings in his candidate to discuss offense and then waits weeks to make it official.
