Yeah I do find it funny he keeps completely ignoring anything on Fisher or Herman now where before that is who he talked about most. Probably signals a shift inside the LSU Admin from Jimbo/Herman to Coach O.

Am I the only one who thinks Kiffin is grossly overrated as a playcaller?

Is there a back up plan if O loses 2 games? Or are we just all in at this point?
I don't know, but if they are indeed all in, that's saddening to me, but they may as well just announce it so O and company can get this class nailed down. I mean, if the decision has been made, I'll be sick, but it helps no one to wait as much as I hate to say it.

Seems pretty clear LSU has put all their eggs in the CEO basket and are banking on him winning out or at least the only loss to bama.

Overrated or not, he has called winning plays in multiple national championship games at different schools.

He may be a scumbag, but he has skins on the wall.

I heard he's selling hard to name him ASAP so he can lock in some great recuits to finish the class with a bang.

He's not some master chess player, but what he's done with their QB situation is very underrated. He's calling plays that fits what his talent can do, and putting them in a position to succeed, all while running a new system. I laughed my arse off at the odd couple that was Saban and Kiffin when he was hired there but Kiffin was a slam dunk.

"I thought about reneging on the Tennessee deal. I left earlier in the morning and when I landed on the tarmac in Tennessee, I got an (LSU) offer that was kind of hard to refuse,” Orgeron told The Advocate in Baton Rouge this week. “The reason I had gone to Tennessee is because Lane and I were good friends, and I wanted to coach under Monte Kiffin’s defense.”

Does Orgeron regret turning down the offer from Miles?

“Every day,” he said

Maybe Kiffin is returning the favor.

O would then make a move to get Kiffin at LSU.

I'm not in here to flame you, but this happening is a very low chance possibility. Not because Kiff & O aren't tight - they are. Not b/c the LSU OC isn't a good job - it is. But because A) Kiffin will have HC offers after this season, B) if he were to stay at Bama he'd be doing so with Hurts at QB, 4 of 5 o-linemen returning, Ridley back, the top 4 rushers returning, etc. He's set up well at Bama. That's not even to mention that he'd get a bump to $1.5M this off season at Bama if he didn't take a HC job first.

I'm not against it. I think it would work and our class is being held so that would be huge

I honestly can't see a guy like Lane Kiffin's pride allowing him to coach under a former assistant no matter how close they are.

I'm all in for O and would love Kiffin but a lesson from the Les/Cam fiasco is don't hire your buddies because they're hard to fire.

If Coach O is retained without winnning out, it's an admission that the administration fired Les without having Herman or Jimbo secured. Can't fathom how those fools made that call that early without a secure plan in place.

The real screw up was last year. Because they caved to media pressure, etc., they lost out on their best chance to snag Herman and could have permanently burned bridges with Jimbo.

Clowns.

Depends on where. I doubt he'd take anything but a big HC job

Maybe he just thinks Saban is an a-hole.

Good. Screw Herman. Don't like him.

I think Kiffin is overrated and there is zero chance he comes to LSU to be OC. I could see coach O floating that idea to give himself a better chance at the job
