FBS coordinators average staying at one school less that 3 years.

I hope he does get hired away. That means his defenses will still be playing great football

Lane is a probably a rental. I would not bet on him retiring here.
Get us back on track, win a natty or two, then decide if you want to stamp your legacy at LSU or try your hand at the NFL again. Fine with that

The only possible “move up” in his mind would be Bama or the NFL. We might have him for a long time.
He likes Texas and Ohio State too

Likely one have him for 2 years.
That timeline would align perfectly with the title game being in the Superdome again. Every LSU tite game appearance has ever been in, has happened when the game was in New Orleans.
While I would love for LSU to win a championship next season, that may be an unrealistic expectation, and a two-year rebuild the most probable. Then Baker & Weis would both likely get HC jobs after a title.

Only bad coaches aren't, and even some of those are rentals.

This is one of the dumbest threads I’ve read on here in the last couple of weeks.

What it really does is keeps some continuity on the defensive side of the ball. Kiffin has been hear one week so if he doesn’t have to worry about the defense he can concentrate on looking for portal guys that will help LSU

Everyone on staff is a rental. Most unless they are older have aspirations to progress and get bigger jobs.

They’re all rentals. Enjoy them while they’re here if they succeed.

aren't most young assistants and coordinators? I get that its not perfect having a revolving door on your staff. But if you have success your coaches will be in high demand so it is a good thing.

Funny thing is, the only ones that aren’t rentals are us, the fans
I don’t know. Watching this SEC championship game, there’s gonna be a lot of “I bleed crimson” people falling off the bandwagon.
