I foresee a Buddy Ryan style fist fight on the sidelines. Can’t wait

This has zero percent chance of working in my mind. Could be much different in reality. Can you really argue with any hiring decisions Saban makes?

It’s just....odd. Kiffin and Sark have their faults but they are also innovative offensive minds that also love the recruiting aspect of cfb. BOB doesn’t really fit that mold, he is more of a 2010 type hire and doesn’t fit what they have been doing. Especially considering the qb for Bama next year isn’t exactly a prototypical nfl style qb.

Neither Kiffin nor Sark were prolific recruiters for Alabama.

So Watson is considered a prototypical NFL style QB?

Also Saban is big on keeping the scheme and terminology the same, while also allowing his new OCs to bring in new wrinkles to add to it. It'll be interesting to see what new wrinkles he adds to this offense.

I also personally don't see O'Brien and Saban having some sort of big blow up like some are suggesting. I assume that O'Brien has decided that he's done with the NFL, and wants to finish his career out in college football. So what better place to get reacclimated with the college game than at Bama that already had a winning formula in place. I think he'll turn out to be a homerun hire, and will probably get a college HC offer in the next 2 to 3 years.

We're bringing in a new starter so I assume Saban likes BOB as a QB teacher. Also with the receiver and RB talent we will have there's no way we abandon this scheme. Our WR and RB talent next season, on paper, is better than this season in my opinion.

Your opinion is wrong lmao

Slade Bolden ain’t lighting it up as your number 2 guy

Maybe JoJo comes in and is dominant though not likely

With O'Brians talent evaluation skills he will get Bama in some serious recruiting trouble for giving 2 star recruits bags of cash.

This is a ridiculous homer statement. Maybe if you go by recruiting rankings

Which receivers are better than Smith or Waddle?
If Bolden is starting for yall then he's a huge downgrade

RB - talent wise maybe but Harris is really freaking good - the news guys might have more straight line speed
yall will have better depth

Hmm - Nobody wanted Orgeron and we got him after looking for over a year to replace Les. And nobody would want him today either.

Slade won't be our #2 WR. It's a reason Saban brought in 4 top 10 WRs in the most recent class. Plus we're bringing back Baker and I think Xavier Williams will be back too.

This. He doesn't get nearly enough credit as he should for what he did in those two years.

This is great. Bama now has the worst assistant coaching staff.

Not sure why O'Brien couldn't have landed a head coaching job in college
It's actually a good hire
You have a mentor now for Bryce Young as he has worked well with Deshaun Watson

Bet he didn't want one. He hates recruiting. This won't require him to recruit much because of the machine Saban has built to do that for him.

And he'll get the "Saban bump" on his resume.

He'll get an NFL OC job in a couple years, then another NFL HC job in 6 years (without GM duties obviously )

To be fair he probably could’ve gotten an NFL OC job this season and probably could’ve gotten an NFL HC job in a few seasons regardless of the Bama bump. NFL loves retreads and can easily convince themselves that BOB would be a great hire if he’s not involved in the front office role
