According to this, Oklahoma is 43rd and Louisiana is 48th, so I guess the answer is neither.

I was raised in LA and live in OK.

I won’t be back.

If my son was a 4/5 star and had offers from both schools? LSU and it’s not close. MAYBE make an exception if he was an elite QB considering what Lincoln has pumped in to the league 3 drafts in a row. But that’s everything to do with LR, not OU.

Eh. Louisiana has far better fishing and hunting if you are in to that. Oklahoma has NOTHING that compares to New Orleans. The food is far better in Louisiana (try getting good seafood in Oklahoma. Good luck).

I disagree, the deer hunting in OK blows away any whitetail I’ve seen of in LA. There’s some absolute monster bucks in the hills of OK.You’re right the food is way better in LA.

Btw Oklahoma has some damn fine hunting.

Yes..

True..

Oklahoma has beautiful country and the people are good conservative folks. 180” deer. The weather is scary tho and the winters can be brutal

No doubt on that. And constantly windy regardless of weather patterns/fronts.

Oklahoma has NOTHING that compares to New Orleans.

Thank God for that.

South LA has a lot more stuff to do than Oklahoma

No doubt about it.

I've never been to Norman, but I would imagine that it doesn't have the culcha element that BR does. Also, their local government has to be better than Broome and the clown show that is the EBR Metro Council.

I dunno man. I lived in EBR in the early 90s. Didn't seem too bad at the time. Norman's got a fricking woke-arse bitch mayor, we are slowly evening out the woke city council (still too left but it's a college town, so uphill climb) and we have the absolute worst city planners. But then again, I always hated in BR how some streets fricking change names in the middle of intersections. I got lost driving in BR more often than I'd care to admit.

Agreed 100%.

I always wanted to get back to BR, Lafayette and that whole area but life didn't really permit it. Oklahoma's not bad though.

OK is booming and MAGA. LA is JBE and culcha. With that said, LSU >>>>> OU.

Yeah, because people travel from all over the world to go to New Orleans for the food, jazz, culture, etc.

I don't think anywhere in OK is on someone's bucket list. I do know a little something about it - lived in "Green Country" for 4 years growing up and my dad was born and raised in OK.

My favorite part of Louisiana is when you just cross the state line and you see the Louisiana sign, in your rear view mirror.

Rep. Biggs’ survey identified 682 felony crimes and their citations in Oklahoma’s state laws. Many are notable for applying to relatively innocent or obscure offenses. For instance, a person who takes up a stray dog but does not report it to the county sheriff within 7 days may be guilty of a felony punishable by 6 months to 3 years in prison. Making a false statement in the application to hold a closing out sale is a felony. The second offense of selling or even giving an alcoholic beverage to, in the words of the law, “an insane, mentally deficient or intoxicated person” is a felony punishable by a fine of at least $2,500 and up to five years in prison. Even adultery is a felony under Oklahoma law, punishable since 1910 by up to five years in prison. Many more laws criminalize violations of regulatory and licensing codes, touching everything from private security guard applications to horse racing.

Oklahoma Legislators passed the second of two companion bills that would criminalize anyone who films and publicly posts a photo of police officers.

Define better. If we're talking things like education, politics, cost of living, taxes, crime, etc. Oklahoma and it's not even close. Almost anyone would be better than Louisiana in livability. If you're talking other things like culture, people, etc. then LA. Otherwise, most of Louisiana is a third-world country.

Have you actually looked at any of these things for Oklahoma? Norman is nice by Oklahoma standards, but Oklahoma is also a corrupt as hell state run by the oil industry which purposefully sabotages education so that they can keep getting rig workers. It's also very expensive to live in because insurance is constantly paying out for hail and tornado damage thanks to those being multiple times a year events.

And for the record I've lived in both (OKC area for Oklahoma, NOLA area for Louisiana). Louisiana by a landslide. Maybe there's slightly less corruption and slightly better education, but it's a thin margin and Louisiana beats the crap out of Oklahoma for natural beauty, nice people, food, and weather (you get to experience 105 in the summer and 10 in the winter!). Also much better fishing and hunting in Louisiana if that's your thing.
