By the way they factor it, I guess, but there is so much missing from that list. I love LSU, but no way it's the best coaching job in the country.

While I agree that LSU is a top 5 job, I think Texas or Florida are 1 and 2.

This. Texas is easily the number 1 job. No recruiting really, and you sit back in the big12.

Bammer fans will demand a recount since there are 5 spots between them & #1...that's not possible in their world.

The list isn't far fetched considering it is from 2001 to present.

Recruiting is easy.. just take care of Louisiana and you've got top 5 talent.

that's why.

LSU does not have an instate school to compete with for instate talent.

The only reason it gets a hit is because the history from decades ago is so-so at best.

Needed a guy to organize all that potential, then PROCESS it on the field.

to all the Saban haters.

Roll Tide.

UGA should be higher than Auburn.

UGA is top 10 / Auburn is top 15-10.

This is proof alone why computers shouldn't be the definitive answer to any topic.

It is tabulated using several different categories form 2001 to the present. I wouldn't expect Alabama to be as high as it could. That list will look different in 4-5 years for several programs listed.

that's what i thought. this list is kinda weird. i like the SI one better and it isn't only because they have UGA at #5

I agree with LSU being No. 1.

No in-state competition in a state that is extremely productive ... located in the heart of the most fertile recruiting territory in the country, with Texas next door ... rabid fan base that consumes pretty much the entire state ... member of the best conference in the nation ... abundance of resources.

Texas and/or Florida would rank higher if they were the only game in town, but they're not ... plus Texas is not in the SEC.

Once LSU decided to loosen the purse strings with the hiring of Nick Saban, it became the animal we all knew it could and would be.
