Other reliable posters on 247 said not to worry about the money if it’s the right hires

not really because in my eyes he should use some of his budget

1000% I've been saying this. He needs to cough up a couple Million out of his own pocket to make up for the Pelini buyout. Hire a super legit DC, and tell admin he wants it back in his contract when he wins an SEC Championship. That's fair and I think most would support that.

I mean how much does it cost to live in Larose anyway?

If this is true....He needs to look at smaller school coordinators like Coastal, ULL, UAB, BYU etc

Young hungry guys looking to make their big break

Might actually be a good thing. I know names like Muschamp and Pruitt and Mason sound good to some people, but what motivation would they have to bust their arse?... at least financially, none.

I want a coach who will be busting their arse to field a great defense because they want to move up in the coaching world.

Will never happen

But I’ve been thinking.

They should definitely leverage O’s buyout

“Ok, you want another DC? You want to pay muschamp $3mil over 2 years? Well that’s $3mil out your buyout”.

He shouldn’t have a big budget.

Several insiders including Sonny has shot this shite down. Brooks is an awful reporter.

Let’s call it like it is, O found lightning in a bottle with Burrow and Brady. He can recruit and is only as good as his coordinators. Money is now limited and we have to accept that we may be heading to pre Saban days.

yeah limited budget because LSU pays low end coaches top dollar. These bad hires are on LSU staff. THey need to do a better job of vetting coaches before offering them top dollar.

Not if he gives up part of his compensation, which he should after this season.

“limited” budget

This is a good thing.

You give Coach O a big budget and he hires washed up dudes who have the “experience” and “resume” to demand high salaries, yet they aren't able to coach the modern game of college football.

A small budget forces him hire young, hungry, talented guys who are out to prove something.

There is no reason we should be paying our defensive coordinator $2.5 million a year. Go find a young, up-and-coming D-coordinator at a G5 school making $250k a year and pay him $1 or 1.5 million to coach at LSU with our great athletes.

Marcus Freeman only makes 600k. Can we pay more than that?

In that case, let’s offer him $3.1 million with a $7.0 million buyout.

Not at all. O said he was going to get the best coaches, and he’s never steered us wrong before.
