how much of the Vandy defense was talent and how much Mason?

Vandy and talent don't usually go together

Vandy was 24-15 under the coach before Mason, 9-4 in the last year

Mason was 27-55

There is no way to spin how bad Mason was, and the defense was horrific the last few seasons

Correct.. once the spread was introduced to the SEC. His defenses went from middle of the pack to third to last.

These same guys that are going to give us crap right now are the same guys who will be calling for his head in the middle of the season.. and how they shouldn’t have hired him.

Franklin was an offensive coach

Defensive minded coaches aren’t carrying programs like Vandy in 2020

Tell that to Luke Fickell, Tom Allen, Kalani Sitake and Pat Fitzgerald... just to name a few off the top of my head.

Mason can’t defend the spread... his stats prove it!

Everyone needs to keep in mind, that we will hear of a few names that we have contacted. No need to melt about any meetings. The more the merrier.

Personally I think people are too triggered over the female kicker gimmick.

people were acting like he sat better kickers so Sarah could play. Its fricking Vandy, they dont have a better anything anywhere, its a miracle they even had Sarah.

edit: Brad Wing is the best punter weve ever had. Mo Isum (goalie for the womens team at the time) went at him in a kick off thing. She frickin smoked him

They are as bad of programs as Vandy... and yet their defensive minded head coach put them in position to succeed.

Derek Mason - 51 years old

Many here bitch about going younger. If Mason's white you'd be hearing the same thing.
Granted HC is different than DC but what is his track record/resume that makes him so attractive? Black?
PLEASE do not fill this position based on race. Fill it with the best candidate.
I'm finding myself looking beyond Mason.

BYU and Cincy aren’t like Vandy. They’re both big fish in very small ponds. Especially this year when they aren’t playing P5 teams.

And if you didn’t notice Big 10 offenses are ducking terrible. There is Ohio State and the second highest scoring Offense is Iowa who is 41st in scoring.

frick off with that weak shite.

O Likes 4 down lineman because they get home more.

And Aranda likes the 3-4 because it is more versatile. Who is smarter, O or Aranda?

Are you ever going to own how incredibly wrong you were about the comment below to VolTiger when he called all of this staff turnover to a T?

He is alot more qualified than the rants #1 choice Corey Raymond. Im more concerned about the OC

Except the majority of the Rant doesn’t want Raymond, they dislike the idea of him maybe more than Mason. The favorite on the Rant and my personal favorite is Freeman. He’s a better fit, checks all the boxes, except old that O isn’t intimidated by!

Lastly if we do hire mason at least Ryan Clark won’t be to upset

Because this is actually one of the criteria LSU should consider when making the hire.
