Freedman: Agreed

Longo(not so much)... I’d rather Tom Manning.

That’s like saying George Bush isn’t qualified to be governor of Texas because it’s been so long since he was a governor.

He last was dc in 2012-13. Thing of how the offenses have changed since then. That is the biggest strike against him

Strike 2 is the kicker bullshite. He wasn’t even trying to be competitive at that point.

Well the biggest strike you came up with isn’t a strike at all. While at Vandy as HC, in his second or third year, he took over the defense and they made an immediate and noticeable improvement. He was an excellent DC at Stanford, which hasn’t been the same since he left. His defenses were excellent against the run and the pass in pass happy PAC 12. He knows the SEC.

If the female kicker is a strike against Mason for you, that’s on you. Les Miles tried to do the same thing. DCs don’t pick kickers. You are reaching for reasons why Mason should not be a viable candidate. You are 0 for 2. Luckily, your input won’t be considered in the decision making process for choosing the next DC.

And Aranda likes the 3-4 because it is more versatile. Who is smarter, O or Aranda?

It doesn’t matter. If the HC wants a certain style than he gets a certain style.

The Chiefs run a 4-3. So are they dumb? No. They’re the defending Super Bowl champs.

I actually think mason could be an asset for LSU bc of his sec experience.

I have no idea his qualification as far as being a DC though.
He was a hc in the sec but does that mean his expertise is defense?
Idk.

You think he didn’t have any say in the defense?

Yes. It does. He was a top notch DC before he was head man at Vandy
