Hadn't seen this posted anywhere and it's a good read regarding the vetting process and FAU's inability to find anything incriminating other than hear say about the white women comment. They seemed to have dug pretty deep and didn't find shite and the comment that he was quoted on in the January lawsuit is just bad taste at worst. That's the only time his name was ever implicated in anything according to this.

Time to choose.

Success or pandering to the people who supported promoting a DL coach?

Im all in for O. Hes trying to pull off the best OC hire in years. Get behind Briles.

I want Briles badly. The whole Alleva holding this back thing is really pissing me off. How can you be scared to hire someone who was never proven guilty of anything? Jesus man. You obviously cut ties with someone if it's proven that they did something wrong but there was a hell of an investigation into that whole situation and his name only comes up this past January in a civil suit and all he did was ask someone if they liked white women? Pretty telling in my opinion.

Someone said a recruit told them he said that.

That's his "named in a lawsuit" moment.

Exactly. It's all fricking hear say. He hasn't even been mentioned in any of the major issues that went down at Baylor. Theres no way that extensive of an investigation that occurred at Baylor wouldn't have implicated him in some way if he was involved in the cover ups.

Are you aware that litigation is pending? Even if (big if) Briles is ultimately exonerated, that date is far down the road. He was lucky to be hired by FAU prior to the suit being filed.

A university—particularly one supported by public dollars—is never going to hire a candidate who’s involved in an active lawsuit, to say nothing of the nature of the suit. It’s a complete head-scratcher that you’d think he’d ever be considered. After reading several of these threads, it has to be a case of many of you not understanding what happened (and continues to be litigated) at Baylor.

He's not involved.

ETA. A&M fans sure are scared this will happen

A court may ultimately decide that.
As of now, it hasn’t.
And that’s why every attorney that breathes an ounce of LSU air will chuckle at this entire conversation.

Where's he listed as a defendant?

He's implicated in a civil suit and the only thing it says in there is that a recruit claims he asked him if he liked white women. That's fricking hear say and it's not illegal to ask someone if they like white women lol. He's not being personally sued but is just implicated. Being the actual person being sued is different from being implicated indirectly. I was implicated and named in a lawsuit once due to a guy getting injured at work and I wasn't even at that location that day. I was named along with about 45 of my co-workers. People are named in lawsuits all the fricking time and for the most part it has no effect on them whatsoever.

I’ve never been ”that” fan.
But whatever.
And if you think anyone is nervous about Briles, you’re mistaken.
I’ve zero clue why you believe he’s worthy of even a glance.

Its mind boggling

52 rapes later, and 5 players in prison later and the guy has a cheering section on here. Their TE stayed on for 2 years after the rape, under OC Briles, and was NEVER disciplined.

And no one talks about this

Baylor's Kendal Briles, NCAA discuss potential recruiting infractions

Baylor offensive coordinator Kendal Briles and receivers coach Tate Wallis were suspended from the Lamar game for a recruiting violation.

It WONT happen because the people who make these decisions can't allow it. Briles is far more intimately implicated in the Baylor scandal than Schiano was in Penn State's and look how that went. Briles is actually named as a defendant in a civil case that involves rape.

And it's best for LSU he isn't hired. There are numerous more highly qualified candidates.

Why would A&M fans be scared of Baby Briles when Mike fricking Sherman went 3-1 vs Daddy Briles?

Alleva forced the Duke Lacross coach to resign over false rape allegations. He actually gave him an ultimatum, be fired or resigned. This is the main reason I can’t even stand Alleva is our AD.

In the beginning of Duke lacrosse case, on April 5, 2006, Joe Alleva forced Duke lacrosse coach Mike Pressler to resign under threat and faced criticism for his handling of the case. In 2008, Alleva announced he was leaving Duke for the Athletic Director position at Louisiana State University. Joe Alleva - Wikipedia

People should check out this thread on Joe Alleva on TD in 2011

Cause aTm as whole is a POS that knows its truly inferior to LSU hinted by the no victories since joining SEC, and with baby briles it actually gives LSU a "high powered" offense to go in raw and dry catching no feeling for a bitch

This is one reason that JA should not hold the title of athletic director at Louisiana State University. Instead of doing his homework on a potentially great hire, he will side with the court of public opinion. He has no back bone to make a decision and stand and defend his decision. Shutting down Briles because of what social media is spewing is the easy way JA.

No, the belly laugh comes from an Aggie giving any sort of advice regarding ethics.

A&M destroyed the SWC by ratting out SMU, a team they couldn't beat on the field.

Agreed. If we don’t get Briles, it ain’t on Coach O. He’s doing all he can.
