Aranda as a recruiter

This was always the knock on him, though I do remember he improved in his time here. Anyone have any insight on how he’s recruited at Baylor?

They've gotten better in the rankings each year he has been there. He's turned Apu into a really great player so you know he can teach.

Orgeron camp propaganda

Chavis left the cupboard empty at LB because he was a lazy, non-recruiting frick.
Aranda restocked the cupboard and then some, plus turned Chief's leftovers into legit talents.
Aranda might not be the loud, boisterous, charismatic used car salesman that Orgeron is, but I wouldn't sell Dave short. He does enough to land them, and then he actually develops them once they're on the field.
I'm sure parents (in particular) get tired of the arse-kissing, sunshine blowing, disingenuous, typical recruiting pitches most coaches throw at them. Aranda brings a very different, genuine dynamic.

Aranda can't become the face of LSU because he sucks at recruiting. Not to mention that all the elite QB's will bypass LSU and go somewhere else and just like when Les Miles was the head football coach.

It's too early to tell since the players he is winning with right now are Matt Rhule recruited football players.

According to 24/7 Baylor, last year was ranked #33 in recruiting

All of your takes are completely terrible. If he produces talent and produces NFL players they don't care if he is loud and crazy. Can't even compare him and Les Miles.

That's obviously because I'm not nearly as severely mentally deficient as you so obviously are.

So you are saying are mentally deficient? Nice of you to be honest micropeentiger12.

Under Rhule Baylor had close to the same ranked classes so he's at least keeping up with the status quo there.

That's actually for 2022. Let's skip 2020 as most of the recruiting was done by Rhule before Aranda took over.
Here's Rhule 4 classes for comparison
2016: 40th (4-stars: 2, 3-stars: 13)
2017: 40th (4-stars: 0, 3-stars: 27)
2018: 29th (4-stars: 6, 3-stars: 17)
2019: 35th (4-stars: 2, 3-stars: 21)
Rhule's average: 36th (4-stars: 2.5, 3-stars: 19.5)
2021: 41st (4-stars: 2, 3-stars: 16)
2022: 33rd (4-stars: 1, 3 stars: 18)
Aranda's Average: 37th (4-stars: 1.5, 3 stars: 17)
2022 is still a work in progress, but it looks like Aranda's recruiting isn't significantly different to Rhule's.
So yes, Aranda is winning with Rhule's players, but they are no better or worse than his own will be.

There is no evidence this is true at all. Granted, such evidence isn't in plain site if it existed. But no one can point to a damn thing.
- no recruit or player comments
- hasn't been spotted back in his home town while "recruiting" (as happened with Chavis constantly)
- no other assitant coaches complaining - before OR after he left
- Track record at Baylor does not show a decline which would be the case if the HCIC wasn't on his game
- Plenty of pictures with him with recruits, spends time with them on visits
- Go look at his recruits (the best way to tell about recruiting) at LSU. He brings in a comparable volume to other coordinators/assistants. He just might have a higher recruit ranking average than some that might surprise you.
What Dave Aranda hates is disorganization and inefficiency. So traveling to recruit a player that doesn't fit an overall plan, or having no overall plan at all, is what he hates. He wants to be sure that his and his peers time is spent away from their family on shitty planes is time best spent. Going through the motions for the sake of motion is how to get Aranda to turn into evil Darth Aranda.

I'm really not that concerned about recruiting, for anyone that comes here.
For every 10 players that come to LSU, 8 will come regardless of the coach. They WANT to be at LSU.
The other 2 guys want to play for a winner. If the guy who comes here turns the team around and makes an impact, those guys will continue to come.
I'd rather have the #10 class, and those guys are picked because they fit the scheme, than the #2 class full of shiny 5 stars who don't fit what you want, and half who will transfer because they're behind the other half in a year.

If O and Les were such great recruiters and we always had top recruiting classes, then why do we suck so bad now? Why do we have 5* that barely get on the field and then transfer? Why do we never have any OL and a general shortage of linemen period? Why were two of the greatest players we have had, Mathieu and Jefferson, both 3*? Recruiting rankings dont mean a damn if they don't produce a well stocked team that has players who play up to their potential. Add into that players who develop physically and in their knowledge of their positions after high school and rankings mean even less.
