I think that UF situation was a worse shitshow than LSU when he took it over

Um, what? Do you remember the state of this program when BK stepped off of of that jet?

Right conference, wrong coach. I'm thinking Ryan Silverfield at Memphis is someone who will be getting some serious consideration especially if Memphis wins out.

50 wins in 6 years 10-3 in 2023, 11-2 last year and currently 7-1

And has only 5 returning starters this year from last year's team and is 6-1.

He also led Tulane to another conference championship game last year making it 3 in a row.

Having a coach who can continue success (even though we didn’t win the conference) at Tulane is impressive.

Ryan Silverfield

I’m not sure why Golesh is getting more attention than Silverfield.

And then he took over Fritz's Tulane teams that had gone 12-2 and 11-3 the two years before he got there. And then went 9-5.

Then had to replace like 60 players after Fritz left from those teams.

Going 9-5 is pretty good considering.

Im not convinced Napier is a bad coach. Just put in the wrong situation.

The sad part is that he’s a good head coach, just a terrible play caller. His ego wouldn’t let him give up play calling. Hopefully he learned his lesson, but doubtful.

If I were in power at Tulane, I would hire Napier if Sumrall leaves. Napier has to agree to hire an offensive coordinator.

I hope not. He couldn't win at Florida. Not a greatt fit - whatever. With those resources, .500ish is ridiculous.
He had a really good QB at ULL; won a lot of tight games. Played modest schedules; only 1 really impressive win and that was the first game out of the pandemic. It was all pre-NIL. Proximate to a lot of high school recruits.
Leery of retreads in general. I like to see them do some "Saban time" for a couple of years to figure out what went wrong.

I do, and Florida was worse. They had less scholarship players and Napier’s first recruiting class was either in single digits or close to. As bad as we were, Florida was worse.

Yes, Oregon is really suffering with that inexperienced, first time head coach.
