Alex Grinch for LSU DC?

Most of your only experiences watching him were his defense getting torched by Burrow. He rushed 3 constantly.
But we saw a lot of that.
In 2014, the year before Grinch’s arrival at Washington State, the Cougars ranked 99th nationally in total defense (442.3 ypg), 127th in pass defense (296.6 ypg) and 127th in turnovers gained (8). In 2017, he presided over a WSU unit that ranked 16th in total defense (323.3 ypg), ninth in passing defense (170.9 ypg) and ninth in turnovers gained (28). Washington State also allowed only 11 touchdown passes in 2017, tied for fifth-fewest in the country. And its 103 tackles for loss were tied for eighth-fewest nationally.
At Washington State.
The man is a wizard with secondaries, and has worked with them at every stop.
This would be a slam dunk with our talent.

Looked real good in the playoffs

We're talking about Oklahoma here.
Which, by the way, improved drastically since last year.

He would need to step up his recruiting SIGNIFICANTLY. Lots of low 4s and 3s that he’s supposedly rebuilding their defense with. You aren’t slowing down an offense anywhere close to playoff caliber with that kind of talent.
He would have access to better talent here, but can he close the deal? If Busch and Raymond left, could he put together a staff that will recruit on this level?

Our HC is one of the greatest recruiters in the game.

True, but O can’t be the one hitting the road all season. He’s a good closer, but he has to run the program. It’s the DC’s and mainly his staff’s job to do the grunt work on the trail. Would Grinch prioritize recruiting the way you have to in the SEC?

Did/Does Aranda? Unless I've simply never heard the stories, I don't think he has a reputation as a great recruiter or grinder on the trail

Oklahoma’s D was improved this year and he did a good job at Wash St.

Most of the "experts" here only know LSU torched him. By their reasoning, Venables and Saban would also be jokes

Id take him in a heartbeat

People will suit on this but OU had 0 fricking chance against LSU.
No one really had a chance.

He coached a historically bad Ohio State defense. He left and the defense improved dramatically. I'd run far away from Grinch.
