That's why he said their names at the Press Conference. So when this goes to shite, he can say, well..Blake & all the baws thought it was a good idea, too, so don't blame it all on me.

We just fired a bad coach and hired a worse coach.

The team improved after Miles was fired, so he's not worse than Miles.

My level of excitement for next year is only slightly higher than it was for this past year. So he's got me there.

I really hope Orgeron does great, but I think it was a terrible hire.

NOPE....Alleva said "I am the search committee."
Alleva takes the blame for a mishandled search.

Look at who was pimping for O.

All the national announcers with ties to opposing SEC schools (Palmer, Pollack, McElroy, Finebaum)
ESPN
The SEC brass (this protects their golden goose)
All the opposing fan bases
All the good old boys Saban and Emmert had finally run off that get their toy back. This is exactly who they (BOS) wanted. They will all have access to anything and everything inside the football program, giving them bragging rights at their country clubs.

I have a feeling that the big money guys will soon hear how Alleva handled and reacted during this "coaching search" and Alleva won't be around for many more searches. Maybe, just maybe, he lasts long enough to make two new basketball coaching hires. Maybe.

this simply can't happen, now.

There is zero evidence to think he could make a quality hire. Alleva has to go.

Alleva and LSU could have done a lot better if only he would have tried. If not he could still hired Odgeron in2-3 weeks.

just to make a good hire.

How in the hell is hiring a DL coach who two years ago was out of work and who was a miserable failure in his only other HC job when he actually was in full control of a program even rise to the level of being called a good hire?

He might turn out to be Saban II, but right now he looks more like Curley II.

Joe's four big hires are three failures and the guy who couldn't get hired at ULL.

Anyone not thinking god help us is smoking rope.

of course he said that. he is shielding others and that's part of his job.

imo, alleva is near retirement and knows this is his last football hire. if it doesn't work out, he will either let them fire him (if a severance pkg is available) or retire.

it's all about power. skip bertman had a lot more power due to his baseball success and his powerful personality but alleva doesn't have that.

this search was a consensus hire with Joe running point. for the life of me I can't understand people not understanding that.

Every single program in the country. Who do you think puts all the money into these programs? Bobby Loweder at Auburn,Paul Bryant Jr. at Bama, Red McCombs at Texas, etc. All these guys are local businessmen who donate millions to these universities and are involved in big decisions.

It's all dumbass girls and cucks on Facebook who love the hire.

Over the past few weeks as I fielded phone calls from colleagues who are "fans" when they wanted to know my opinion of the coaching search and eventual hire, those guys who I know only follow the Tigers on an ancillary basis (they follow laundry and almost certainly couldn't name 20 current players for instance) were almost 100% repeating word for word the talking points run out by the Information Minister from O's staff (Derek P). We all know them.

Hire O cheaply, get great coordinators, he's learned his lesson from Ole Miss, he's got the offense piling up points, etc.

Soon as I started to point out the absurdity of having to RELY on elite coordinators, or the fact that most of them were recently repeating the mantra that ANYONE could come in and do better than Miles, or the fact that you don;t fire Miles 4 weeks int the season and pretend to do a search only to hire your DL coach, I'd start to hear cracks in their talking points.

While this board will always remain a small percentage of total fans, it does make up, I'd bet, a group that is far more in touch with the program on a daily basis and knows far more about what's going on. When this board has an opinion, it's generally the feelings of the group with the most in depth knowledge and not the run of the mill Walmart t-shirt fan.
