THIS!! The 100% commitment to WINNING is not here! We have become a football program of hoping to catch lightning in a bottle! When it doesn't happen, NEXT YEAR! Man, we gonna be good next year! Screw that! If you want to be Ga Tech, winning 8-9 games, GTFO! The mindset of this program has declined! Then having an AD giving ridiculous contracts and buyouts to coaches that Literally no on is after (exclude Aranda), puts LSU further behind.

It's Orgerons first full year as LSU head coach.

he doesn't want to be OC. even if he's a success, we get that for what? 1 year? 2 max? then we have to hire a new OC
Look at the bright side, Alleva should have no problem negotiating a no buyout clause.

One would think. Ensminger will most likely get a 3.5 million buyout and 1.5mill per year. You know, be the highest paid OC, bc that's what LSU does!

we'll likely win 8-9 games so Alleva won't be under fire to get rid of O
That might be wishful thinking next year.

1. If Ensminger struggles running the offense, you get your wish. Are you happy? 2. However, if Ensminger succeeds, our offense does well and we have a great season. Are you happy?
If we get 7-9 wins a year and (occasionally) win a meaningless bowl game, will YOU be happy? If so, are you glad we've blown millions to get something we already had? Orgeron sure is.

My goodness Alabama can afford it give. How ridiculous their recruiting is and HC

Did Saban get hired at Bama solely for the fact that he would hire the BEST coordinators?
If saban hired Ensminger i would have no fault, because it would probably work. They have the best Oline in football year after year, they dont have to out scheme people.
LSU needs someone that can dissect a defense when we can't just run it down their throat.

Man you talking to the same people who ran with the "O lost all N.O. HS coaches crowd bro. This place is a joke, they are all little chickens, following the flock, they have no real info, no real opinions, they simply follow each other like a bunch of chickens.
When the flock is upset, they all flap their little wings, jump around, knowing that their death is imminent. This place should be called the chicken coop. It's madness in here, and they have no clue what's going to happen. None what so ever.

if this is a terrible hire?
This is the insidious thing - Because I was a kid in the 1970s, I LOVE Steve Ensminger as a Tiger. And, he's not "terrible" (stale, maybe, but not terrible) on paper as an OC hire.
But, if LSU is going to aspire to be one of the 4 playoff teams, Steve just isn't the right guy, IMHO. I hope like hell he proves me wrong.
And with our budget and status, we could have hired any one of 6 or 7 guys who likely IS one of the guys who can get us there - far more likely to do so than SE.
Again, praying like hell he proves me wrong - the 2016 offense he called looked great at times. If he's the guy from January on - maybe it can work (see how chronic, fatal optimism works?)

There is NOTHING
Listen to me... NOTHING
That Edward Orgeron will ever do that will come remotely close to anything Saban has done or will do.
Saban was even able to hire Ed’s BBQ buddy, another thing Ed will never be able to do

Yeah, but he only did pretty well because of Saban's recruits.

A great offensive line and effective QB make an average OC look great. The real issue is OL recruiting and QB recruiting/development. Without those 2 components Steve Spurrier would get heartburn.
