Schuman just got his butt cheeks split open by Bill Obrien.

Lebby has issues. Won’t be considered due to his ties at Baylor.

I'll be honest - it wouldn't upset me at all if Kelly went and grabbed Bob Diaco instead of Golding, except that Diaco doesn't give you the recruiting edge Golding does.
From his bio...
In 2019, Purdue's defense was 86th in scoring defense and gave up 436 yards a game. In two years he's ratcheted that down...
2020: 401 ypg, 29.8 ppg (67th)
2021: 343 ypg, 20.5 ppg (23rd)
His defenses get better the more he coaches them. I like this guy a good bit. I think I like cutting Saban off in Louisiana with Golding more, but if you can't do that I'll take Diaco as a familiarity hire.
From his bio...
quote:
Diaco, who served as UConn’s head coach from 2014 to 2016, was named the Broyles Award winner as the nation’s top assistant coach in college football while defensive coordinator at Notre Dame in 2012.
Diaco joined Purdue after spending the 2019 season as Louisiana Tech’s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Diaco helped guide the Bulldogs to a 10-3 overall record, including a 14-0 shutout win over Miami in the Walk On’s Independence Bowl, and a 6-2 mark in the West Division standings of Conference USA in his lone season in Ruston. La Tech won 10 games for the first time since 1984.
In the first shutout in the 44-year history of the Independence Bowl, Diaco’s Bulldogs limited the Hurricanes to merely 227 yards of total offense and 15 first downs. According to Stats Inc., the Bulldogs became the first Group of 5 program to shut out a Power 5 school in a bowl game since the beginning of the BCS/College Football Playoff era in 1998.
The Bulldogs finished third in C-USA and 31st nationally in scoring defense in 2019, allowing 21.8 points per game, while Diaco’s defense scored five touchdowns last season, all on interception returns, to finish first in the conference and third nationally in the category.
Individually, junior cornerback L’Jarius Sneed garnered first-team All-Conference USA honors, while sophomore defensive tackle Milton Williams, junior linebacker Willie Baker, senior linebackers Collin Scott and Connor Taylor and senior defensive back Michael Sam were feted with honorable mention recognition by the conference.
Diaco, who hired current Purdue co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Anthony Poindexter to be his defensive coordinator at UConn, led the Huskies to an appearance to the 2015 St. Petersburg Bowl, the school’s first postseason appearance since 2010. Diaco was the first UConn head coach in school history to lead the Huskies to a bowl game in just his second season at the helm.
During Notre Dame’s run to the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, Diaco’s Fighting Irish defense finished second nationally in scoring defense, allowing merely 12.8 points per game, while finishing 12-1 for the year. His 2012 defense finished in the top 10 in 12 difference categories in the Football Bowl Subdivision that year. He was named Notre Dame’s first recipient of the Broyles Award after the season.
In his four years at Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish allowed an average of 19.1 points per game, ranking ninth in the FBS during that time span.
Diaco, born Feb. 19, 1973, got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Iowa, in 1996. His previous assistant coaching stops include Western Illinois (1999-2000), Eastern Michigan (2001-03), Western Michigan (2004), Central Michigan (2005), Virginia (2006-08), Cincinnati (2009), Notre Dame (2010-13), Nebraska (2017), Oklahoma (2018) and Louisiana Tech (2019). He served as either defensive coordinator or co-defensive coordinator five previous times - Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Nebraska and Louisiana Tech.
Diaco was a four-year letterwinner for the Hawkeyes as a linebacker from 1992-95. He was twice named an All-Big Ten selection and was voted the team’s 1995 MVP under legendary head coach Hayden Fry.
Diaco and his wife, Julia, have two sons, Angelo and Michael, and a daughter, Josephine.

But no, all those bad plays were from the other Co-DC.

Another Bad WR coach from UGA? We failed last time with that poach.

I don't think he is the co-dc.
They couldn't get to bryce young with their line.
The linebackers played great.

Diaco can coach.
Think you go with someone younger with ties to texas, Louisiana, georgia, or florida.

You are laughing but he only got fired as the coach of uconn after like 5 or 6 years. Supposedly he wouldn't hire jerry kill as his oc.
Where did he get fired year after year? Bet you don't come back with an answer.

He didn't get fired from nebraska or oklahoma.
The coaches he worked for got fired.
He didn't hire kill at uconn so it was basically a parting.
I don't know about purdue. Thought he was still there.

He got fired from purdue.
Brohm will be hiring his 3 dc in 3 years. Who only gives a dc 1 year two years in a row?
To be clear i dont want this guy for dc.

I wasn't being snarky. I wasn't overly familiar with him...I looked at his coaching history and he had 5 jobs in 5 years.
UConnn HC (2014-2016)
Nerbaska DC (2017)
Oklahoma OLB (2018)
Louisiana Tech DC (2019)
Purdue DC (2020)
Looking into him further, Purdue was the only job he was specifically fired off a coaches staff though. 2017 was when Mike Riley and his staff were fired from Nebraska. But he only got 6 games in the covid year at Purdue before they cut ties. Just seems weird.

Oh ok. Interesting definition of firing that you have. Noted

Please explain how i am wrong.
If a coach hires you from another school and the head coach gets fired the first year you are there you think that counts as a firing?
The only places he got fired from was uconn and purdue(after 1 pandemic year).
Sorry you were wrong(again).
