You think Ole Miss wouldn't pay him? They'd match LSU's offer for sure on Lebby. BK would have to give him assurances he'd run the scheme for him to make that move, imo. He'd be a great hire though.

Hell, it would be worth it to force Ole Miss to cough up $1 million to keep an offensive coordinator.

He could then turn around and get Denbrock from Cincinnati, who's perfectly solid.

That’s the beauty of having a great head coach. He will put together a very strong staff. No more hope and pray stuff like we’ve had

I think you guys might want to lower your expectations an OC. Elite DC, sure. OC I see him more getting a younger guy who can recruit great, run his scheme, and grow. Doesn't necessarily make it bad it's just going to be his offense. It's something I was hoping he'd open up more and he may but we'll have to wait to see.

Don't see the need to have 3 guys with Nola ties (Hankton, Long, Johnson).

I'd like to have someone on staff with Texas recruiting ties if possible.

Can they move Jones to analyst or administrator? Don’t we have to pay him anyway?

Long isn't really a New Orleans guy. He's from Alabama. And he's coached all over, including at Notre Dame under Kelly.

Something happened in 2019 at Notre Dame where he got sideways with the administration there and Kelly had to let him go, but apparently Kelly loves him.

Long might actually be a diamond in the rough/dark horse offensive coordinator, though you'd want to hire a quarterbacks coach to go with him. He's had a lot of success in that role. My guess is Kelly will make a big-dollar OC hire this year knowing that guy will be somebody's head coach in a year or two, and then he can move Long up.

This is a link to an interesting article (dated Nov. 1) that questions whether or not Ole Miss will be able to retain Lebby as he is such a hot commodity. If they think Lebby would leave for a big payday, then it lends credence to the possibility of his move to LSU.

If it's a million dollar raise they might not.

Lane is "suppose" to be the brains of the offense. Maybe he thinks he can plug another oc in or ole miss won't pay it.

Honestly the lure for lebby might be the HC of Kiffin ever leaves. Given Kellys age we should do the same if he's as good as advertised.

Baker has ties to texas and long isn't from nola.

I'd rather david johnson over hankton and hire a different wide receivers coach.

Johnson makes 550k as a running backs coach and rc at fsu.

Yeah, that staff wouldn’t suck.

Y’all think Woody would throw 3.5-4 million at a coordinator if that’s what it took? I mean, we going all in or we going all in?

I doubt we'll go that high, because I don't think we'll need to.

But $2.5 mil for each? I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Baker has recruited the hell out of Texas before. And Brad Davis has extensive ties in Texas as well.

I realize Long isn't a Nola native. He's been OC at Tulane for the past year though.

Yeah...I'm not a huge fan of Hankton. Johnson alone would give you a strong Nola presence.

Lebby would be interesting, but I don't see Kelly just turning the offense over to someone to do their thing.

Looking at Kelly's ND tenure his teams had remarkably similar results from year to year. Offenses on average threw it about 30-32x per game and completed about 19-20 passes per game. Passing yardage was typically between 240-260 ypg, and total offense was usually between 410-430 ypg.

Really nothing exciting about his offenses. Maybe that changes...maybe not.
