Oklahoma won’t make college football for at least 10 years after they join SEC. They are about to start playing big boy football

Listen. If Scott pulls this off combined with his other two hires there should be a school street named in his honor.
With that said. Purely on a football basis I can make an argument. Not a particularly convincing one but I can make one. Here it goes.
OU is leaving for the SEC so their comparatively easy path to conference championships and playoff berths is gone.
This is no longer bobby bowden sitting in the ACC stacking up top 5 seasons and someone in the SEC calling saying hey come to us.
Oklahoma as a state has less talent. He certainly has easy access to texas but he has seen where OUs talent pool has gotten him relative to the SEC every time he goes to the playoff and saw first hand in the Georgia dome LSU's talent pool.
Lastly you want to argue history. Lincoln would be much more concerned about selling the last 20 years rather than the 1960s.
in the last 20 years LSU has won 3 national titles OU has 0.
Think about that there is not a single kid Lincoln Reily recruits who was even ALIVE during OUs last title.
Plus the added cherry on top is that we will pay more than OU.
I think its unlikely to happen but there is an argument there.

But tell me again how much better we are as a program
LSU has Evolved into a program that plays for and wins National Championships. OU has topped out.

But, is he a championship level coach?
Was Les Miles or Ed Orgeron based on their resume?
Les Miles and Ed Orgeron weren't coaching at Oklahoma.

This. No one knows a damn thing about this search. Most are just voicing what they hope will transpire. I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is people that speak in absolutes about who is, or isn’t, a viable candidate. NO ONE KNOWS. Relax and let the search play out.

OU ‘s model for success is “ playing in the big 12”
From the late 90s so 2010 or so the BIg 12 was probably THE best conference. OU has shite the bed in the playoffs but generally hold their own just fine when they play SEC teams
They def don’t lose to programs like Moo State and Troy

Weren't both if those playoff losses to SEC teams? OU lost twice to unranked K-State. Pretty similar program to Mississippi State and may actually be worse.

LOL 1950?
1950 Sugar Bowl after LSU's 1949 "Cinderella Season." Darrell Royal ran all over LSU in a romp.

Let me guess.
You settled and married an ugly girl.
He’s coming to the SEC and Saban no matter what, and LSU and Georgia are the best non-Saban SEC schools to win a Natty at. And, Georgia ain’t looking for a coach.
LSU over a SEC OU any and every day of the week.
