So the OP is saying that LSU should only hire someone that has....

A) never beat LSU
B) never played LSU
C) never lost a game a HC

And apparently it is better to have won the Sunbelt than the Big 12.

Also- LSU is the better job because of recruiting advantages but don’t lose to SEC because that means you can’t recruit to OU

silliness

Recruiting is a recipe of HC AND support staff. The support staff is usually comprised of people with established regional high school relationships.

Huh? Baylor lost a commit and then someone they led for. Is recruiting the ultimate deciding factor? No, because like you said, a good recruiting staff can help with that.

But head coaches are required to close on some recruits. It’s why there’s an NCAA rule a head coach can only have one in-home visit while assistants don’t — the head coach visit weighs more.

Btw, Bayor =\= LSU……..

These recruits were lost to Texas Tech, perhaps Oklahoma State — ~72 hours after Dave Aranda’s best win as a HC. Programs on equal footing as Baylor.

People have a right to question Aranda’s recruiting ability.

I’d love to have Dave as DC again, but give me Riley and his Off and ability to develop QB’s with the talent LSU pulls all day. All he needs to do is find a DC and LSU will be a tough out.

Hell, I’d be more than pleased if Jones stayed on as DC if the Jones we’ve seen these last two games is what we could’ve had all year if O left him alone.

I don’t even care that it was only 2 games solely based on the two teams we played and how depleted our Def. is. Both top 25, Bama who throws it around and can run was held in check and Arkansas is one of the best rushing teams in the SEC. I want to say they were tops of n the SEC when the game started.

With a top shelf DC and our athletes, You’re going to see some championships in very short order.

LSU will be as good as ever on defense and have a great O Line, have the skill players, and Riley will bring QB production. LSU is going to look like a video game. Will resemble 2019, all the time.
Saban will ne retiring after his first back to back losses to LSU. It’s happening.

He got his team there 3 out of 4 years, that's what counts.

Rejuvenated program that rallied behind a transfer QB making his first ever appearance and playing the game of his life. If you didn’t watch the game then I can see why someone would consider it a bad loss. Baylor didn’t play great, but Morris was essentially perfect that game. Wasn’t like Baylor played poorly.

Ok if you’re going to do that then Oklahoma gave up 63 to the greatest offense in the history of college football so you can’t use that against him either.
I swear some of yalls made up stipulations that you use for certain coaches but not others are ridiculous

If you don’t want Riley…. you’re an idiot. That just all there is to it. I get liking Aranda BUT, at this point in their careers, there’s just no way anyone on the planet (with average intelligence) chooses Aranda over Riley.

Don’t you think this has a little to do with Aranda probably leaving for another job?

It’s almost like he wasn’t playing with SEC players.

I love Dave and would support him. But, your complaint holds no water when you dislike a coach that lost to CFP SEC teams to support the one that lost to TCU

He just beat the coach you're talking about despite being HEAVILY out gunned talent-wise.

You’re basing your support on him winning one particular game?

No. It was a tongue in cheek jest to BHP after his comment about Baylor losing to TCU.

I don't have a favorite here, just want someone to build a steady program. Preferably someone highly regarded for coaching either Offense or Defense

Of course not, this is TigerDroppings. The CC is basically an extension of tRant. We ignore plausible, logical, or even likely explanations if they do not fit our narrative.

I like Dave a lot to and the lack of HC experience is a factor. But it's not the final word.

FTR, a 3* recruit in Dave's hand is worth a 5*in many others. He will coach people up.
