Those are the point totals OU gave up in losses to SEC teams to end Riley’s first 3 seasons.

His only SEC win was against a decimated Florida team (no Pitts/Toney/Jefferson/Grimes).

What about this guy is worth the commitment it would take to bring him here? His QBs win Heismans in a league where Jonathan Giles was a 1000yd receiver and he gets dominated by the SEC.

Different athlete.

3A to 5A ball.

Tough to compete as a coach.

Ok, so who do you suggest LSU hire? I guess 54-9 isn't meeting your expectations either

I like him but, he's not a great recruiter, plus only 2 years as an HC

Lost to TCU with a fired HC.

I love Dave and would support him. But, your complaint holds no water when you dislike a coach that lost to CFP SEC teams to support the one that lost to TCU

Beat Riley and covered the tie breaker with a late FG.

I love Dave. But, the cognitive dissonance of that OP is what I’m pointing out.

Every coach we could hire will have some skeletons in their closet (including Saban).

Riley's game is not suited for winning championships. Maybe he'll change. Maybe not. Aranda is TBD.

But what we see in Aranda's looks really good. SW needs to do his homework.

Rejuvenated program that rallied behind a transfer QB making his first ever appearance and playing the game of his life.

If you didn’t watch the game then I can see why someone would consider it a bad loss. Baylor didn’t play great, but Morris was essentially perfect that game. Wasn’t like Baylor played poorly.

Baylor just lost a DT pledge from Neville.

McGuire, the new TTech coach formerly of Aranda’s staff, just landed a really high-end 2023 four star recruit that was thought to be leaning to Baylor and Aranda.

These two recruiting developments just 72 hours after Dave Aranda’s best win as a head coach.

I don’t know how Aranda would do recruiting wise at LSU as head coach, but these two developments just happened so I think it’s fair to question how Aranda would do.

Thank you. So sick of “muh recrootin”

Get guys who want to play for us, teach them sound fundamentals, and put them in a scheme that maximizes their abilities.

That's OU vs SEC.

Aranda gave up how many points to Ohio St when at Wiscy?

Sure would be nice to have a coach that locks down one side of the ball.

Riley is a winner who should do better with LSU's athletes on both sides of the ball.

54-9 in the Big-12 is a whole lot different that 54-9 in the SEC. I don't think you can do much better regardless of the conference, but there's no certainty that he'll do the same in the SEC.

Recruiting is a recipe of HC AND support staff. The support staff is usually comprised of people with established regional high school relationships.

Btw, Bayor =\= LSU……..

My biggest concern is what we are having to give up to get Riley. Upwards of $12 million is excessive, but I wouldn't have a problem with that if the contract was for a few years (say 5 or 6). Sounds like we are making a commitment of closer to 10 years with what is almost assuredly a massive buy out. I don't think he's worth all that when there are questions on the defensive side of the ball. If he doesn't work out, we're not going to be able to make a change for a long, long time.

Instead we can take Aranda with a 5 year contract at $5 or $6 million a year that is heavy on incentives. I don't think we are losing much shifting from Riley to Aranda. Certainly not enough to justify the giant contract we'd have to pay Riley. Especially when Aranda has a load of upside.

Nick Saban lost to Gerry Dinardo by 20

Post like yours remind me of Ranters saying a coach isn’t any good or “y’all still want this guy” after a loss.

It’s embarrassing
