OK, so we know it's coming. There is going to be at least one major character death. My top 3: Carol, Daryl, Abraham.
In the comics, Carol killed herself a long time ago, Daryl doesn't exist, Abraham catches a bullet in the head (in this season's timeline), and Glenn is the victim of Negan's bat.
I'm eliminating Glenn because of the earlier death tease, the fact that he's obvious if they follow the comic, and because he's the only Asian major character (at least I can remember from the comics).
Carol is expendable as the timeline advances and would be a heart-breaker. But, I don't think AMC has the balls to pulverize a woman's head with a bat. I don't remember Negan beating women. It would however be a huge impact if it did happen.
Daryl doesn't fit in the known Walking Dead Universe. But he's too much of a fan favorite. The Walking Dead comic is suffering (in my opinion), and the TV series doesn't need to do anything too drastic at this point to lose it's audience.
Abraham almost bought it by questioning who's Negan. They're currently working to make him a bit more of an endearing character. I think I recall Kirkman regretting killing Abraham the way he did. So, I see Abraham having a big 'tude against Negan and the conflict will leave Lucille tasting ginger blood.
This is a speculation thread, and that's where I am right now.

I'm steering in this general direction as well. That being said, killing Glenn will still hit even the book readers hard. I still think Daryl is untouchable but you make a good point about Abraham.

I hope its not Carol. I've really been enjoying her ever since Terminus. Where has she been anyway? Her absence is a little strange but I guess this will start happening as the cast will continue to grow.

I am on the they are killing Abe train.
Way better than they off'ed him in the comics

With the 'world getting a whole lot bigger,' characters in a TV show will get crowded out. The story line has to advance. How many more times can we see Morgan follow his calling and spare the unjust? Carol is a certified badass but how do they keep her character fresh? Will be interesting to see how things play out. I wouldn't want to be the guy writing the series.

Here's who I'm thinking gets Lucille, Maggie. She has obviously cut her hair since they've stopped filming. In the comics Rick negotiates with Gregory but last night it was Maggie. So Negan could see her as the leader of the group perhaps since she negotiated 50% of the Hiltops resources in exchange to kill him. Her getting the bat, plus being pregnant, would be pretty shocking. Especially since everyone thinks it's going to be Glenn or Daryl. Lincoln said he was sick and couldn't sleep when he read the script. The cast obviously has to know in the comics that Glenn gets Lucille so he should have been prepared for that if it were Glenn and not shocked. Killing Maggie and her unborn child would be huge and something no one sees coming.

Yes, and she's in a leadership position. Killing Maggie would be a huge branch in the show and the comic. I don't know where the TV show is heading, but Lauren Cohan is getting more movie offers than any other actor on the show that I'm aware of (I don't follow this stuff all that closely). If she wanted out of the contract to pursue a movie career.... who knows?

I don't think it was a coincidence that Dwight stole Daryl's crossbow. I think Abraham will probably take an arrow like he does in the comics. If Abraham isn't the one, someone will be taking an arrow.

They set up Abraham to be on patrol with Eugene, they'll discover the means to make more bullets and Abraham will get the arrow on the way back.

Sounds like Neagan is just going to be an over the top Governor. The fact that Ric Grimes and group would be stupid enough to walk into another major trap with Neagan after the Governor, just shows the story is being stretched a bit. What would be a more intersting twist would have been Ric acting like the Governor toward's Neagan's group.

I don't think so. I think they believe they're unstoppable because they took out an entire herd of walkers.
