Finished WoR. Holy hell that was great. The final 1/4 of that book was solid gold. Couldn't put the book down.
I really really don't want to quit this story because my memory is so bad I just know I'm going to struggle to remember things after reading multiple stories in between. But I guess if I need to I will. Went ahead and bought Elantis.
This will hopefully be the last time I ask about reading order but what if I did this (not counting short stories unless some are a must read):
Mistborn Era 1 and Stormlight 1 & 2 (finished)
Elantis
Warbreaker
The Alloy of Law
Shadows of Self
The Bands of Mourning
Edgedancer
oathbringer
Dawnshard
Rhythm of War

You really don't need to.
If you want to read straight through you can. Some reference points will enhance your understanding.
But you can always understand certain things after the fact. It won't be a big deal

Gosh dang, did you sleep at all since Friday?
I had read all the released chapters going into it.
For the rest, I audio book'd it at 2.5x speed, which I do when running errands, chores/yard work, driving etc. It was about 20 hours total, which isn't all that crazy

Now you can finally appreciate this gem Bard dropped earlier in this thread.

It's not going to hurt anything if you read Wind & Truth now. Considering how big the scope of the story is, how many characters there are and how many different storylines are going on, it might even be better in the short-term.
I spent ~6 hours finishing off WoR on Saturday morning, cracked the seal on Wind over the weekend. I'm just a couple of chapters in and already there is at least one eyebrow raising reveal which might get lost if you let a few months go by before reading Wind & Truth.

I think we all convinced you to go an order, but its not always the best idea for everyone.
We HAD to read it like that but you may want to just read it straight through and go back.
You won't suffer doing it.

Honestly the only book I'd recommend reading before continuing stormlight is Warbreaker. I dont think Elantris or Mistborn era 2 is necessary. And while Warbreaker isnt necessary, I definitely think it adds a lot. Edgedancer and Dawnshard are both part of stormlight and are short so are worth adding. But like Fun Bunch said, you could just read straight through stormlight and be fine.

Agree a bit on Warbreaker, plus it is much shorter than Stormlight books
There is some convergence of Mistborn Era 2 with Stormlight 4 and 5 (so far), but not enough for you to be confused imo

When Dalinar and the army looked out and saw the Parshendi with red eyes and they started singing I was like the stone cold steve austin "o hell yea" gif let's get it on.
Honestly the only thing I wasn't crazy about towards the end was Lopen drawing in stormlight. I don't know how people feel about him but for some reason he's just a little annoying to be. I get he's some comic relief but just not my favorite. But that is a very minor complaint.
I knew giving that plate to Moash was a mistake. Can't believe he didn't see that coming
Some of it is till pretty confusing

I've read these books a few times and some parts I still have a hard time grasping.
If you have a specific question and it can be answered within the context of what you have already read, happy to do so

Agreed. When he had his confrontation with Navani at the end of RoW, I was struck by how much he had become the very type of person he accused Elhokar of being (and then his family, by extension). I would have liked Navani to confront him with that, it might have been an extra layer of denial within him for Odium to re-squash once he got out of the tower.

Currently reading winds of truth, just wanted to say I really like the way Sanderson has written this book so far.
To avoid any spoilers I had not looked into anything, really like the entire massive book is only 10 days.
Sanderson's version of 24, that baw has got me guessing every which way this is going to go.
Anyway enjoy the ride everyone.
Speak the words.

Thanks. I'll look back at what some of it and see what a few of the main things were. I've been reading the chapter summaries in the coppermind and that's actually helped for minor things I might have missed but just not clicking on any particular person or other link so I avoid spoilers.

Memory of Light is more like his version of 24. The entire book is just one huge battle. Dude knows how to pack in a lot happening in short time spans

Starting Day 10. This has been one hell of a ride.
