You're probably further along than I am. I mainly read just before bed. I'm not even through the first Kaladin chapter yet.

Finished. Kind of expected the ending but not the way it happened.

TON of cosmere references in the last chapter and Hoid's epilogue. We now know where the timelines for MB and SLA line up 100%.

Szeth and Kaladin's finale was incredible. Dalinar's was very satisfying. Not sure about Shallan. Adolin my man.

I’m not even finished with Words of Radiance yet.

Honestly I can see why. The Renarin story was weird. It felt like it was work shopped to death and the writing is weird. It didn't really fit with the rest.

Adolin's story was kinda cheesy but I loved it.

The ending was kinda out of left field but the more I think on it, the more I like it.

My only real big complaint is the actual writing. Prose has never been his strong suit but Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, and Oathbringer were as good as it gets for Sanderson. Rhythm was kinda weak there but Wind and Truth really suffered. All the dialogue felt lacking. The whole book honestly felt on the same level as the secret projects. With the secret projects it worked because they (or 3 of them) were written as stories told by Wit. Here it just kinda fell flat.

Overall I still loved Wind and Truth but it's firmly in the 4th spot for SLA books, ahead of RoW.

I just finished last night and I thought it was outstanding.

I would place it after Words of Radiance and Way of Kings but before Oathbringer and Rhythm of War.

Just finished and loved it. Saw some fb group members mentioned not caring as much but I thought it was great. Words of radiance and Oathbringer still better but it’s on par with Way of Kings and better than Rhythm of War. Lots of cool shite, I’ll wait til later to do spoiler thoughts. Loved Adolins entire arc this book tho, he was the mvp this book.

Still listening to the new book, but just wanted to pop in to say I just read Sandersons end of year entry

Pretty pumped his next big project is to complete all three Mistborn era 3 books together and it will be following the ghost bloods. So he will hand them all in together to publisher and they will likely release a year apart from each other

Some spiked friends from era one will be back, and new characters as well

Definitely not my favorite. Not interesting but out of nowhere. Yes he’s been an odd guy but going in that direction…ugh

Got to that part a couple of days ago. (FTR, I am still only on Day 4 as the holiday season has seriously cut into my reading time).

Oh goddammit Dalinar wtf are you doing?????? There was no way you could have known Teravangium would take up Honor. That seemed like such a rookie blunder from a genius like him. Makes no sense. He would’ve known from his Odium power what happened when Preservation and Ruin combined, creating Harmony who can’t do shite. He would’ve understood why Odium hadn’t already taken Honors power. Now that Odium was released from his oaths, he could have simply wiped away all possible threats in the blink of an eye and sealed away Honors power again. No reason to do what he did and invite cosmic wrath from other shards.

Before anyone fusses at me, this is a spoilers thread

At least it’s only a small part of the story and does serve a purpose. But yeah…yuck

Ok, Dalinar’s action makes some sense because things happened to work out that way. But man, what a leap of faith that was. Honor’s power wanted to fight Odium and who cares if it proved Taravangian’s philosophy correct? Sure Taravangian, you’re right. Sometimes you have to do bad things for the greater good. Now let’s end this.

Those other shards need to get off their asses.

Autonomy was a force in Mistborn Era 2. I wondered how she viewed Odium and what she’ll do about Retribution.

Thats not true, when a person takes up a shard as shown in other instances their mind expands exponentially he would have known what happened with harmony even if it was not expressly mentioned in the story

Also living the life on honor in the spiritual realm he would have seen what happened through that beings eyes

Right, that’s what I’m saying. There is a reason that Odium never wanted to combine with Honor. Bc it changes who Odium is, and because Odium would’ve known that Harmony was struggling having two shards. So I’m just not convinced that Taravangian would’ve fallen for doing that.

Dalinar held the power like five minutes so it’s remarkable he could’ve understood the interplay between the shards so quickly. Taravangian did not. Remember how Cultivation showed him the other shards?

Yeah, but don’t forget that Dalinar did live honors entire life in the spiritual realm so he technically saw how honor saw the other shards and everything as well

In the end of this one I think it was just exposing Taravangian‘s character flaw of thirsting for more power versus him being super level headed and only making careful calculated choices

Edit: if I’m not mistaken (have to go back and listen) but I thought Taravangian viewed harmony as weak because he couldn’t control the power, but the book was so long I honestly don’t remember
