Carrie
The book isn't that well written to be honest. The Shining was so much more well written.
But King was just out of school so he was still honing his craft.
The movie Carrie had mystery about her until the end. In the novel, King spells it out at the beginning. She has this psychokinesis in the first few pages.

Jurassic Park (to a lot out there)
Hell no. I love the JP movie but the book crushes it. In fact, every single Crichton book is much better than the movie adaptation.
As for the OP... I'd go with Who Framed Roger Rabbit over Who Censored Roger Rabbit.

IT (the most recent films).
The way that the story is told in two parts instead of jumping back and forth the whole time really helps with the story continuity. Also, getting rid of the underage gang bang is a significant improvement.

I disagree that Midnight In The Garden Of Good and Evil was better as a film.
Agree with that, I was really disappointed in the movie.

The Bond films weren't exactly high art but Fleming's books sucked.

I too agree even with the fact that the razing of the shire and the actual end of Saruman would have made them better.
Tom Bombadil was unnecessary in a film adaptation and serves no real purpose. Sorry.

The Godfather would get my vote. But since I haven't seen it come up yet, I'll throw Psycho out there.

I totally agree - and I’m a librarian that likes big books (I cannot lie)
