Now:kindle. I enjoy reading in the dark outside at night. Or with windows open if I’m home. I’m older and the light bothers my eyes. Also like I can read on phone if traveling light. As well as read on work computer. It keeps track where your at. I can also blow up text for my eyes.
When I was younger I enjoyed paperback because it was easier to carry in backpack or back pocket. I’d donate to whoever when done reading. Usually a camp visitor center or hotel lobby. Never held onto books then.
Oddly now I have a small collection of books. I enjoy the smell and look of an old book. Yet read everything on kindle.

I don't even know what e-reader is. I've never tried to read on a tablet, but I just don't think I would like it...especially after starting at a computer screen all day for work. I like to hold an actual book, preferably hardback, but will read paper if it’s all they have.

Paperback #1, hardback close second. Prefer the tactile feel and ability to search and move around thru the book the old fashion way.

I understand arguments against E-readers, but I think the search function is the greatest argument for E-readers. There are plenty of times in fiction stories where a character is mentioned like we have met this person before, and I won't remember who they are. I just have to highlight the name and search. Then it'll show me all the times the person was mentioned.
Also, my vocabulary has expanded using an E-reader. If I don't know a word, I can hold my finger over the word and the dictionary pops up.

If you've never tried a Kindle, you should give it a try.
Reading on a Kindle is nothing like reading on a computer screen/tablet. You won't get eye fatigue/strain etc like staring at a monitor all day.

Love the Kindle app on my phone, easy to take anywhere, night mode, works across devices, etc. It’s truly a 5 star app.
Same. Also got Kindle Unlimitted as a gift. Not sure I'll ever go back to actual books, though the nostalgia does call out to me at times.

I've heard others sing similar praises of e-readers re: searchability, vocabulary look-up, etc. I just haven't gotten comfortable with those features, probably my fault.
I do have a Kindle Paperwhite and use it sometimes, especially reading at night or while traveling. Just not my favorite.

95% of my consuming books is audio books. 4-5 a month. I'm not paying for Audible though. Plenty of free resources out there.

I love real, physical books, but the convenience of an e-reader is difficult to overstate. I have a newer Kindle Paperwhite and it is a fantastic device.

I have had several Kindles but the last tablet I got was a Samsung Tablet...I downloaded the Kindle App and I have my whole Library.
They have a Nook app as well

Never thought I'd have one but I read kindle books on a kindle fire tablet. I had 3 kindles before it but I like the tablet better mostly because it's backlit. I love actual books but this is much easier to take to work.

100% audible. I read so much during the day for my job that it’s hard for me to pick up something in the evening. I also like being able to listen to a book when I go out and run errands, etc.

I prefer reading with a hardback, but I’m going to cheap out on the paperwork if it’s convenient.
The only time I’ve used e readers was in grad school because it was convenient to look stuff up and sometimes that was the only place I could find the book.
I listen to books a lot in my vehicle. So I enjoy audio books as well. I used to rent from Cracker Barrel religiously back in the 90s-2000s.

Yep. On CD. The library was an awesome resource also.

Hardcover for me.
Ditto. I prefer a hardcover over any other. I need to hold a book in my hands and feel the pages. I like the visual of seeing how far I am into the book. I like the smell of a new, clean book. I love the cover art. The only time I use Kindle is if I'm getting an older book that's out of print and the cost of a hardback is exorbitant.

Hardcover/paperback
Kindle paperwhite
Audible
Kindle is by far the most convenient, but I still love the feel of a book in my hands. I've taken to audiobooks since I started my current job about 2 years ago. With my round-trip commute I can knock out 2 hours a day of my current audiobook. This is the first year I'm reading one in each medium at the same time, and it's working well for me.

I don’t purchase paperbacks anymore, unless it’s not on kindle.
