One of the comments I read on an article about Max & Ian being cast was "Damn, looks like they're trying to make up for S5."

I hope he refuses to film with both eyes open.

This is the first year I've kept up with the casting announcements this early, but shouldn't we hear about the rest of the new actors very soon? I know they are filming stuff now

Crackpot:
Azor Ahai is a warg.
Bran can communicate through weir woods because they are sacred to starks
Fire/ dragons are sacred to targaryens. What if blood raven communicates to red priests/ priestesses through Fire?
What if Azor Ahai is just bouncing around bodies with blood raven getting thing in order for his return?
A warg can remain in a body for so long before succumbing I the original host. But some of the original instincts remain.
What if snow wargged out and Azor wargged in?

This is a common enough idea and there is some potential to it IMO. If we consider that the last hero and AA are the same person, it seems likely that he was a warg. This could also play into a popular Bran the Builder theory. He built too many famous structures to do it in a single lifetime. The easy answer is that it was multiple people over generations. The more crackpot idea is that it's been Bran building them all along.
So let's take that a step forward, in theory, Bran could be Azor Ahai. If he can indeed reach back through time, then he could be responsible for ending the first long night.
I don't personally buy into this, just because it trivializes everything in the plot. But it's something worth thinking about I guess. GRRM really opened a can of worms when he dabbled with resurrection and time travel.
An interesting thought is that Bran would be being "reborn". Because he would be first doing something that he actually does thousands of years in the past. He would have effectively already done it but have no idea that he was actually going to do it. Mind blown.

How did GRRM include time travel in the books. Bran's sight is not the same as travelling back in time.
Are you talking him being able to "whisper" through the trees? Still not time travel.

I would say that being able to look back through time, and interact with that reality, is flirting with time travel.

The character he is playing is around 25 years older than Maester Aemon.

Young Ned has been cast. Tower of Joy flashback?
Posted on 8/9/15 at 11:58 am to Finkle is Einhorn
That's the only explanation
Posted on 8/9/15 at 12:01 pm to Byron Bojangles III
I hope it's as awesome as it is in the books.
ETA: Young Ned will be 13. That's too young for the Tower of Joy flashback isn't it?

I pictured Bloodraven to be similar to Theoden in Two Towers under the spell. Hazed eyes, near death appearance with roots growing into most of his head and arms.

The actor cast to play young Ned is 13. It's not the ToJ, although I think that happens.
It's a scene between Ned, his older brother, and young Littlefinger, from what ive heard.

Knight of the laughing tree?
Or just a throwaway little finger scene

If it's Brandon and LF, I'd imagine it's the scene where Brandon slices him up and Cat saves him.

Which would be a throwaway since we already got described what happened there in the show.

Exactly. The only two scenes that would be acceptable would be TOJ or The Mad King killing Rickard Stark and Brandon Stark which is awesome.
I know Ned isn't there I just want that scene
quote:
From Riverrun, Brandon left to join his father's wedding party, coming down from the north. They were on their way again back to Riverrun, so Brandon could wed Catelyn, when word reached Brandon of Lyanna's supposed abduction by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen.[10] Brandon, along with his squire Ethan Glover, Kyle Royce, Elbert Arryn, and Jeffory Mallister, rode to King's Landing immediately, while Hoster Tully became incensed, thinking it a rash action. Upon entering the Red Keep, Brandon shouted for Rhaegar to "come out and die". Rhaegar was not there to answer the challenge; they were arrested by King Aerys II Targaryen and charged with plotting Rhaegar's murder. Their fathers were called to court to answer the charges. Brandon was forced to watch as his father was cooked alive in his own armor. He was bound with a leather cord around his neck and a longsword just out of reach, and he strangled himself trying to get to the sword to save his father. He was twenty years old at the time.[11][12]
