Getting tired of pandering to a group of people who are too lazy to open a book. I was a Hodor for all of 5 days before I received my books and went to town. Especially from any of them that say "I can't wait I'll next season." Really, you can't wait? Well how about you hop on down to your local bookstore pick up the books and put that Dr. Seuss reading level of yours to the test before you mention not being able to wait.

Some people don't have the time/desire to read 5 novels of 1000 plus pages.

Was only enrolled for 1 semester to finish my 150 hours requirement for the CPA exam. Now in CPA exam hell but hoping to have all 4 parts passed no later than July.

Jamie getting a fresh start is going to be pretty sweet too. I actually thought he was going to bone her before he sent her off. I love those two's story line. That was pretty cool to give her the sword.

Jaime's story is so much fun to read in ASoS. I think you'll really enjoy his chapters in AFFC too.

Not to mention it's not like the series is finished. Can't really blame someone completely for not jumping into reading a book with an uncertain timeline for releases. At least with the show they know they'll get a new season every year till it ends.

I'll be lucky if this series gets finished within 20 years of when I started reading it, can't blame someone for not wanting to jump in when the last two books took 11 years to write.

The books are superior of course, but can't blame everyone for not wanting to take the plunge.

True...I know 2 people IRL who started the books prior to watching the show. One started in 2003, the other in 2007. I feel bad for them both .

Rock bottom has to be when the Hodors finally want to read the books......but doesn't want to pass where the series is in story line.

I can kinda understand not being a reader but come the frick on....

The captain-general’s tent is made of cloth-of-gold and surrounded by a ring of pikes topped with gilded skulls. On his deathbed Ser Aegor Rivers famously commanded that when he was dead, the flesh was to be boiled from his skull and then to be dipped in gold and placed on a standard the company would carry before them when they crossed the narrow sea to retake Westeros. Each of his successors has followed this example, upon their deaths their golden skulls adorn the standard poles of the Golden Company

I had to look up what chapter it was. Knew it was a Griff chapter

I forgot about that too, but I kind of half assed Tyrion and Dany's chapters in ADWD.

Or was it in a JonCon chapter? Oh well.

I don't think they will be introduced until season 5.

But the Golden Company will probably be introduced by all the speculation from Arianne Martell and Cercei and others of them breaking their contract with the city of Myr and them guessing where they are headed
