NFL Punter Steve Weatherford Gets Kicked Out Of Planet Fitness, Posts Video
Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports
NFL free agent punter Steve Weatherford was apparently working out at his local Planet Fitness gym a little too hard, because he was kicked out. Apparently he was grunting and being too much of a meathead, then asked him to leave. That's when he made a video and posted this message to Instagram...
quote:

So I have trained at well over 1,000 gyms all over the world. Not 1 time have I ever been approached and asked to "tone it down"...
_
Today I was unceremoniously kicked out of @planetfitness for excessive breathing/grunting.
_
A gym should be a place that encourages, motivates, and inspires you to build the best version of yourself possible. Not a place that has a built in ??Siren?? the manager activates when someone is working hard and breathes heavily.
_
I'm embarrassed to say I paid $20 to this establishment. I'm fortunate to be an overly confident person. Can you imagine how embarrassing this would be to someone trying hard to change their image through hard work and they let a more than quiet breath out.
_
The gym can already be a very intimidating place, clients don't need to worry about being completely humiliated for working hard. -
THIS IS SAD AND IT NEEDS TO STOP!!!
I'm asking everyone to go to @PlanetFitness on IG and Twitter page and share your thoughts.
_
I live this life and share my journey in fitness to inspire, encourage, and motivate others. It seems #PlanetFitness has an alternative agenda.
IT MUST STOP!!!!!! #BoyCottPlanetFitness #FPlanetFitness2x -
You can see the rest of this unfortunate experience on my ??SNAPCHAT??

He's a punter who is trying desperately to look like a real football player. Good for him that he's worked hard and gotten into great shape. Planet Fitness is a place average people go to workout. If he wants to be a "look at me" guy he should Iron Tribe it. Either way, he comes across looking like a douche.

I have a feeling this will backfire for Weatherford. What a douchey thing to do. This is like getting kicked out of a boxing gym because you keep grappling guys in the ring. Then being like "jiu-jitsu is how everyone should fight. This place is ridiculous and their rules prevent people from fighting their hardest." That's the business model of Planet Fitness. Deal with it. Or go to a Pizza Hut and loudly complain about how you couldn't order a shrimp cocktail.

A lot of people who get intimidated at gyms are middle-aged house wives. They want to exercise, but feel out of place when the gym is filled with young douches who act like they're training for Mr. Olympia. Planet Fitness' whole concept is weeding out those people so that people like Mrs. Smith from down the street have a place to exercise among people like herself.

Anyone who goes to a gym for quiet time is a pussy.

I never understood the grunting. You're working out not trying to bang Manti Teos gf. Plus you're a punter stfu

Planet Fitness is not a weightlifter's gym. Respect their rules or go to an actual gym.

I would think a guy as renowned in the fitness world as Steve Weatherford would know better than to go to a Planet Fitness regardless of the situation. He would have been better served to workout in the Holiday Inn fitness center.

He was just upset they ran out of pizza on free pizza night. He asked for another piece too loudly and they sounded the link alarm.

Can't have the members seeing what actual training looks like. Then they may actually be motivated, get in shape & join a real gym. That totally fricks up the business model
