I don't see anything wrong with this rule. They're on company time, on a company paid-for jet. An NFL player in public represents not only himself, but his team and his league. He can surely wait for the beer until he gets to his hotel.

Absolutely. The second a player or coach leaves the plane drunk and pulls a Henry Ruggs the lawsuit against the NFL and the team will be massive. That's why they don't let players drink on the job.

Here's a little secret - if the boss says you can't drink on company time you can't drink on company time. It's really that simple.
