Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta has flirted with the idea of owning an NFL team. Earlier this week, he told Chandler France of Houston Business Journal that he's interested in purchasing the Saints...
quote:

"I've always loved the New Orleans Saints, but [Benson] won't sell them right now," Fertitta said.
...
"I own a franchise, so I love them selling for a lot, but at some point, I don't think $6 billion is the right number," Fertitta said in regards to the sale of the Commanders. "Everybody that's watched me do business for the last 40 years knows when I draw a line in the sand, I'm done. So, I'm here. You know I can close, and that's the way it is."

And he’d probably move the team to San Antonio or OKC as soon as he could….

If he bought them, consider Austin Saints or San Antonio Saints. Either way, Louisiana will eventually lose both of their pro teams.

He had a reality show about inventors or entrepreneurs a while back, where he'd go into biz with them if good enough. I watched that for a few seasons...pretty good.

Seems like a legit guy. Can't question his success. Might be good for Gayle to bow out and just call it a successful life and cater to the kids from here on out.

You sure you're not thinking of Mark Cuban on Shark Tank?

Nope, Billion Dollar Buyer was a show in CNBC that exclusively featured Fertita as he met with potential vendors for all of his business ventures.

This would be a great thing. I'm from Louisiana and now live in Houston the last 20 years.
I love the Bensons for turning the Saints around but she's going to have to sale sooner then later and what Tilman has done wih the Rockets since buying them is exactly what the Saints needs. Entire new Staff, young players and one of the best young coaches in the leauge. This would be a huge win for the Saints.

This guy's circle of competence is pretty high. Would likely be an upgrade.

And be the US Ambassador to Italy?

The Saints in Rome would be fitting. Plus play in the Coloseum and Caesars could still sponsor…

Rockets are currently third in the Western conference and their future is looking bright. Can't say the same for the Pelicans.

He will change the team's name to San Antonio Sants.

@OchoDedos Tell me you not up with the current events without saying you have no idea what's going on in the NBA.

And no he isn't Cajun but he ain't far from it. Born in Galveston.
Fertitta is the chairman, CEO, and owner of Landry's, which includes restaurants like Landry's, Morton's The Steakhouse, Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., and Saltgrass Steak House. Landry's owns over 600 properties in 36 states and in over 15 countries.

Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about... He took a team that could not get past the GSW (well guess what - neither could anybody else) and traded anything of value and got assets in return. And those assets are starting to turn into production. If you want proof, go look at the league standings.
