Mississippi State Releases Statement On Mike Leach’s Controversial Tweet
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports
Last week, Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach posted an inappropriate tweet and later apologized for it. Following that controversial tweet, one of his players announced his plans to enter the transfer portal. On Tuesday, his school released this statement on the matter...
quote:

“No matter the context, for many Americans the image of a noose is never appropriate and that’s particularly true in the South and in Mississippi. Mississippi State University was disappointed in the use of such an image in a tweet by Coach Mike Leach. He removed the tweet and issued a public apology. The university is confident that ?Coach Leach is moving quickly and sincerely past this unintended misstep and will provide the leadership for our student athletes and excitement for our football program that our fans deserve and that our students and alumni will be proud to support.”
quote:

Cohen said that a plan is in place for Coach Leach to participate in additional listening sessions with student, alumni, and community groups and to provide the coach with opportunities to expand his cultural awareness of Mississippi,” the school’s statement said. “One of those opportunities will include a guided visit to the “Two Museums” – the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum – in Jackson as soon as restrictions from the current public health crisis will allow.”

It had died down... and then our dumbass AD went and put it back in the news with this statement. Either do a press release immediately after the tweet was deleted or don't say anything at all. What a fricking idiot.

The dude is a comedian. He's bored. He's gonna post stuff like that. People need to let go of stuff that hasn't impacted their lives directly in recent years. Wow...such thin skin these days.

If MSU was the only school to offer your "kid" then you would take the scholarship, and the car.

It is completely ridiculous to be offended by that meme. The world does not operate on the paradigm of avoiding what someone might be offended by, clearly they can be offended by anything. Like in Wal Mart a couple years ago they had a couple black t-shirts hanging (along with other shirts) on a close line above the clothing dept. and someone got offended. Looking to be offended is a disease that needs to stop, racism exists both ways, and its not debilitating to where one cant be a huge success in this country, if it were as bas as the fools claim then there would be no executives or famous people of color, there would be no millionaires of color, we wouldn't have congressmen/congress women or have had a black president. Its all so hypocritical, its the race card to the 1000th power and it needs to stop, if you want something in life go earn it, put in the work, and you will more than likely succeed. The claims of slight against people of color is ridiculous, they have the bleeding hearts, they have affirmative action basically awarding them scholarships or positions based on skin color when someone else deserves it based on even scoring. Its hypocritical, wake u, people of all colors have had it rough at one time or another, there are white poor people, white people who are destitute and struggling for a way of life too. We are all just people stop looking for anything to be racist. Is White Castle, chess, the dots on dominos, 1/2 of a zebras stripes all racist, get real, you make me sad for humanity.

This is retarded. I look forward to the day when an institution actually stands up to SJWs and doesn't apologize when something innocuous like this happens. There is too much apologizing when it isn't needed and it's just enabling people to become more and more pussified.

Just from a social standpoint, this is THE most pussified country in the world. The sensitivity is at a nauseating level. Run to your nearest psychiatrist. The very first time I saw the pic and read it the last thing I thought of was black people. It had everything to do with her husband, I believe.
