Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
Dr. Anthony Fauci was interviewed by Peter Hamby of Snap Original on Tuesday and said that sports should be able to return as long as the teams are quarantined and stadiums are empty. Per ProFootballTalk:
quote:

“There’s a way of doing that,” Fauci said. “Nobody comes to the stadium. Put them in big hotels, wherever you want to play . . . have them tested every week and make sure they don’t wind up infecting each other or their family and just let them play the season out.”

Fauci said he’s sympathetic to the strong desire in America to see sports again, and that he’s a fan himself.

“I want to see them play again,” he said.

It would be weird to see no fans in stadiums but I'd rather see them play with no fans than not play at all.

I think LSU would move gamely in the indoor practice facility. it just wouldn't be feasible to play games in the actual stadium IMO. that would go along with a lot of schools with indoor facilities like LSU

They can just put huge ads where the fans use to be

bullshite. It's ok for healthcare workers to wear the same PPE for multiple patients. Then go home to their families risking infecting their loved ones. This is all just stupid.

Fauci also said that Americans weren't at risk. He's inept. Makes me wonder how he survived 5 administrations. My money is he gets fired in the next month.

god damnit this is the dumbest fricking state in America. no wonder a state filled w/ deniers has one of the worst rates of infection. a fraudulent reality tv start knows better than trained and experienced experts in the field of immunology. do us a favor, don't get the vaccine when it comes out. get the one Trump makes. dummies.

Hey if you panic stricken idiots want to stay home and hide while wringing your hand and losing your job, your house, & your car then be a damn hermit. Nobody is stopping you from hiding your basement while having dumbasses tell you what to do but your opinion is just that, your opinion. Corona virus is not the focal point to everybody. Maybe to you but it isn't your place to limit anyone else's freedom to assemble or cause anyone else to go into bankruptcy just so you feel better.

So now the flu stops all human interaction. And the good news, the government will save you and make all decisions for the individual. Got it.

He's basically a glorified weatherman who's been wrong about almost everything since February.

That's right, smartie. A guy who is one of the preeminent experts immunoregulation for the better part of 50 years is a glorified weatherman. We should be following the guidance of the talking heads in the media instead.

He’s a “little picture” guy. He can be the greatest immunoregulation expert on Earth (even though he’s been completely and utterly wrong about everything thus far) and it doesn’t qualify him to make the decision on how the country should move forward when taking economics and other things into account. It would seem that the “scientific” community has turned into a bunch of chicken littles who are only concerned with spreading doomsday scenarios when the data suggests that it’s time to move on. The best move is to quarantine the at-risk and old and open society back up, this isn’t a major risk to 95% of the population

uh...this is inaccurate. his boss contradicts every statement he makes and look where that's gotten us. a nice gradual slide from thanking China to blaming the WHO for thanking China. finger-pointer in chief is doing a bang-up job of operating like a QB and have the shortest memory possible.

We need to make sure each team is still adhering to the 6 foot rule when playing. We can never be too careful.

How did we determine that one guy gets to set all of this? He should start adding "So shall it be written, so shall it be done" at the end of every statement.

He doesn't set policy, he advises Trump. If you have a problem with Fauci being allowed to make public statements, take it up with the president who allows him to do that. Trump COULD remove him, but he hasn't because he (or his handlers) know that the head of infectious disease at the freaking CDC probably knows what he's talking about.

nearly a half a million people die from smoking each year in the united states. More people die each year (41,000) from second hand smoke than have died from coronavirus. we are living in crazy town.

because the world is shut down. if the extreme measures that have been taken by the entire world hadn't...the # of deaths would be exponentially higher. jesus, christ, you, people, are, dumb
