The loss sucks, obviously. Let’s not pretend there weren’t some bright spots in the game though. MB’s stats were impressive - especially when you consider how long he held the ball and how many times he was sacked. The offense came alive after the half, they didn’t give up. We’re only 1/10 though the season, guys. Calm down and understand that Coach O, more than anybody else, wants to fix the horrendous defense and Oline and is imagine he is making this week a rough one for Pelini and the rest of the coaching staff. The Vandy game will be a good chance for the team to correct some issues while getting a confidence-boosting win under their belts. Let’s move forward and look forward to the return of Stingley, who was sorely missed Saturday. We’ve got an entire football season to watch. Let’s enjoy it.

Not saying he won't get there but he is definitely not comfortable under the big lights. Even in his post-game interview he does not seem comfortable to me. Making the statement, "I gave it my all", is not going to cut it after a loss. It's as if he is putting blame elsewhere and there is no room for him to grow. I'm not blaming him solely for the loss, however, he needs to really think about what he says and how it may be interpreted. His stats may look good, however, the TD to Gilbert was a desperation throw and the deep ball to Jenkins was a jump ball. He needs to trust his abilities and throw to an open area and MAKE his receivers go to work. Timing takes time, I'm hopeful he will grow along with his receivers.

The “I gave it my all” comment seems be be getting taken out of context here. The reporter asked if he was forcing things. His response was, “no, I gave it my all, *but* I don’t feel like I was forcing anything”. Not sure why people have beef with that unless they did t watch the video

He threw for over 300 yards with 3 TDs and a pick after getting hit in the pocket. He would’ve had 400 yards easily and another TD (probably 2) if his receivers did their part. You frickwads condemning this dude need to take step back a beat the shite outta yourselves for being rantarded. Offensive scheme was a joke, defense played terrible, and we still can’t make halftime adjustments.

If you guys are going to talk about drops, it is disingenuous to not mention the many poor passes, open receivers and terrible completed passes. Brennen was just as bad as the DBs running around like chickens with their heads cut off. That game was a stinker. Especially for the defending national champions. And that sits on Ed Orgeron’s desk. LSU should never play that bad. Ever!

Drops affect the backup QB just as much as the starter. My point wasn't to blame the drops, but to say that LSU fans use to be pleased when a QB went 12/20 with 210 yards and a TD (Etling, BH, JJ, JL, etc). I am trying to put the performance into context. Defense lost that game, not the QB. Hell, look at Joe Burrows game 1 stats as an LSU starter. This one isn't on Myles.

The defense gave up 700 yards. How is this in any way his fault? Did he hold the ball at times? Yea, but there was also a ton of drops and a lack of a running game

People play better on both sides for winners just a fact Jack

Yes! MB played better than anyone else on the team. Of course he has to improve but not nearly as much as the horrendous defense, receivers need to learn that when the ball is placed INTO YOUR HANDS, you gotta hold on to it, and the Oline has quite a bit of work to do as well. This loss, while there a lot of blame to go around, is not on MB.

Yeah and I am sure you don’t think that generating almost zero offense in the 1st half and leaving the defense on the field (with all kinds of secondary problems) was a problem in the game. Well in the 1st half die to Brennan’s complete lack of offensive leadership LSU’s defense was on the field over 20 minutes of the half uet the score was only 17-14 due to a TD (pick 6) by the defense. Take up for Brennan all you want but he left a struggling defense on the field far too long and wore them the frick out because of his inability to do anything. NEWSFLASH!! If a QB has been in your program for over 3 years and doesn’t look like he gets it, then he probably won’t.

I have zero problem with anything he said. He just looks like he doesn’t want to be there and is emotional about the loss and how he played. He’s shocked and like he said, “the execution wasn’t there across the board.” You guys are looking way too hard into this. It’s one game, and as much as people on here say they don’t expect him to be Burrow, y’all expect him to be Burrow.

He was very defensive. Tried to avoid blame. And seemed to have an attitude. He hasn’t earned the right to have an attitude, even if he is a Brennan. He was atrocious. Be humble, as a leader take the blame, and state it will not happen again. Sort of like Burrow or Tebow. That is what leaders do. Followers seek to spread the blame to others like Brennan did. Man the frick up or step aside and let a leader take over.

This is scary. If that was his best and giving it his all, then we need to bench him and move on to one of the freshmen and build something. Ridiculous.
user avatar
TDsngumbo43 months
He also said, “we have to look everyone in the mirror...”. I know what he meant but that doesn’t make any sense. He was nervous and was just trying to get through his first interview as the starter, shortly after a loss. At home to an underdog. Everyone needs to cut him some slack over this interview.

We got a guy on the bench named Finley, that’s a jamarcus Russell clone that will gladly take his place.

And risk having a repeat of 2008-2016 with QB’s all over again? frick that. Stick to MB - the qb who just threw for over 345 yards and 3 td’s. I think we should give that guy something one to work on his imperfections before telling him to warm the fricking bench, tard.

I'm not mad at the kid, he'll be ok. I'm pissed at the defense. I'm pissed at the running game. I'm pissed at the offensive line.

I remember hearing Bobby Hebert saying the same thing after he blew a playoff game to the Philadelphia Eagles. Basically, that's your quarter back saying I can't perform any better than what I showed today. That's not the attitude of a leader.

Brennan just needs to call Momma and go relax on the family yacht today and clear his head. He needs his “safe space”. Then he will be ready to “give it his all” against Vandy” because that’s what is important. If LSU wins then that’s lagniappe. Lol.

Ok, my post sleep comment. His numbers were ok, but he has got to make better decisions. 1) get the ball out fast, don’t over think it, open.... throw (for example Marshall open on your sideline 2) He is slow, but there were 7 or 8 times when he was back there holding onto the ball like a piece of sweet arse and he could have tucked it and ran for 3 or 4 yards and instead gets sacked or baby scrambles for an incompletion. Give us the 3 or 4 yards instead. 3) It’s not an RPO with out the O part. He is gonna have to tuck a couple of those and move his slow arse 3 yards downfield to keep the bad honest 4) show some emotion, show some emotion, show some emotion. The team needed energy and it wasn’t coming from him. Maybe he can be fixed, maybe not. I think that by end of Missouri we’ll know if he can do this and be a solid, competent an. If not, maybe it’s time to go young and give one of the babies the job.

The most unathletic QB in the history of LSU football!

Terrible start to his career. He better improve from week 1 to 2. Max Johnson isn’t the answer either. I watched some of his games. He may be more athletic, but his arm talent isn’t that of Brennan’s.
