Here is the statement that the SEC league office released on Saturday night regarding Devin White's targeting call. Per LSUSports.net:
quote:

Statement from SEC Office on targeting call on LSU player Devin White in response to request for comment from media in Baton Rouge:

By rule, no player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent. The QB on the play was defenseless at the time of the contact. By rule, all targeting calls are reviewed. The call was reviewed and confirmed.

Such BS. It was not 'forcible contact' to the head and neck area. It was incidental contact, at best.

Bad Call. Plain and Simple... SEC commissioner doesn't have the guts to stand up and say the refs were wrong.

Then be gone by the half after Tua puts up 50 in the first half, It's going to be a statement game by Bama, like the 21-0 game but twice as bad. Hello L8U.

JC, i hope you are able to get out of your single wide and you and your sister/wife make it to this game. Our fan base will be rabid and it will not be a pleasant experience for Bama fans this time.

From every angle you look at this play, I honestly cannot see how they interpret that as "forcible contact to the head or neck area." This was about as bad of the interpretation of this rule that I've seen at any level.

Well, this is new to me... usually we have to wait till the actual game to get screwed by the refs!

We need to just put walk-ons in on the first series to start fights with Tua until he retaliates.

We should move the conference office to New Orleans. Then the refs could be from Gretna, Hammond, and Covington we would see how much the Gumps liked what they got then.

He got caught playing Dirty, he'll be watching Tua lighting the scoreboard up from the sideline, knowing he let his teammates down, He may never recover from this L8U coming.
