Three LSU defensive players: junior CB Jyaire Brown, freshman LB Xavier Atkins, and freshman CB Bernard Causey— are all expected to enter the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports.

Zenitz also reported that freshman DL De'Myrion Johnson would enter the portal, but multiple sources say he will remain at LSU.

Atkins and Causey were both members of LSU's 2024 signing class.

Brown transferred to LSU from Ohio State last offseason and played in three games, registering three solo tackles.

This is like the fricking practice squad in the NFL becoming journeyman players. WTF happened to CFB?

Losing all of our practice squad! Damn!

This shite is exhausting. It's a damn full-time job to even know who is on your team. Unless you're either really young or a retired super fan it's near impossible to follow.

It is now year to year with every player. I am out on this BS

It’s easier to deal with NIL but the idea of the portal and being immediately eligible is a killer. This portal is the worst part of college football.

Wait. Just last spring your fans, along with many others, were telling Saban to sit down and shut up. He was just whining. Y’all need to make up your minds.

Call your congressmen and demand they pass legislation to prohibit nil deals for college athletes.

I called and a computer answered. I had to go through a series of 5 or 6 different questions before it led me to a voicemail. I ended up leaving a strongly worded voicemail, but is there a way to talk to an actual person that represents us instead of wasting 5+ minutes to have the ability to leave a message that probably won’t even be listened to?

Do we have enough money to handle free agency?
How do you handle agents shopping guys around? How do you know what to offer a player? Are the players telling to teams what other teams are offering them? This is madness and is causing some people to lose interest in college sports! Who wants to celebrate recruiting a good player anymore? This will continue, because stadiums will be filled and university revenues will continue.

Pickett and possibly Weeks are Day 1 starters

These guys were going to get passed up. Best of luck to them

You talking about Zach Weeks being a starter? This guy reclassified from 2026 to 2025. No way a guy who was supposed to a Senior in High School is starting at LB as a true freshman in the SEC. He will be a stud one day, but let’s be realistic.

All 4 are 3 stars. Yes stars matter. Yes, when you name Jefferson and Mo Claiborne, I can name 25 1st and 2nd rounders from LSU that ESPN300 recruits.

This model isn’t sustainable for College football.

College football ratings are the highest they e ever been and coaches salary are the highest they’ve ever been. It’s sustainable even if you’re being a whiny arse

Nearly impossible for a coach to build depth at any position these days and that’s what winning championships takes. It seems coaches are now expected to win with one hand tied behind their back. Really hard to be a fan right now. No telling what a team will look like from year to year. I don’t think any coach will last long in this climate: either too many losses or sheer exhaustion from all this portal/NIL mess.

Yet still someone will win a national championship at the end of the year.
